College 3-point line moving back

It's been way too short since they created it.
People talk about the lack of scoring in college, this will help that ridiculously. Should open up some more room in the lanes. Also also help with people throwing up stupid 3’s. Big win for college basketball
Never could understand why there are three different three-point line distances. Makes about as much sense as having different size basketballs, lowering the hoop height or varying the hoop diameter for high school vs college vs the pros. While I’m on my soapbox, metal bats in baseball are stupid.
I hope it does, but I doubt it will. Until the shot clock is reduced, I don't see scoring average in college hoops increasing all that much.
They did change the rule that on an offensive rebound the shot clock resets to 20 seconds.
That's not going to increase scoring....That would make for terrible basketball.

I think it will take some time to see how the 3 point shooting % are affected. Basketball has become very pro analytics. Getting 3 points vs 2 points per basket made the 3 point shot popular.
In the NCAA Division 1 basketball nearly 150 teams shot 35% or better from 3 and 60 teams shot better than 37%. No NBA team shot better than the Warriors at 37%, and only 4 teams shot better than 36%. Clearly NBA shooters are better than D1 shooters, so when you move the line back, it would make sense that the NCAA 3 pt pct is going to fall.
That could actually impact the game for the worse as far as overall scoring goes.
I'm not sure I understand. The NBA is horrible because of the scoring. The relentless jacking up of 3 pointers. There is no strategy.
I was simply pointing out that college scoring is not going to increase much with a 5 inch push back of the three point line. It will take more.
