I hear you. And him believing that the UGA opportunity is better for him than the SC opportunity should implicitly factor in any relationship management collateral damage within the fraternity of coaches.

If I were offered a job today, I wouldn't look at it as just $s, but also within context of the implications that leaving my current role and company might help or hurt me in the years to come - the tenure/movement/churn has an implied opportunity cost or benefit of some type that has to be estimated.

But I don't feel an ounce of loyalty to my employer. And I've never expected that my employer has any loyalty to me.

I don't think it really means a whole lot other than UGA is simply in another stratosphere right now in terms of relevance.

Well, I guess it just goes to show that not all societal/cultural attitudinal change has been fortunate with respect to employment covenants or professional expectations. I'm not assigning all the blame for that to one side or the other.

He's not going to be a "sexy" hire, and most on this board will excoriate Beamer for it. But the dude is a good coach. Sterling Lucas had never recruited a day in his life, and by most accounts, is our best recruiter. I don't know Furrey well, but do know him. He's done a really good job at Limestone, and the players love him. Great personality, I see him crushing it on the recruiting trail. I would be a little surprised if we gave him $600K+, which is the threshold for board approval.

I'm guessing a title of some sort and a multi-year deal (2) which also requires board approval.
