So, taking a queue from the gaming world, I’m getting a laugh trying to fit coaches into the tiering concept. Just some examples to play around with. Maybe someone has done this somewhere already.

S-tier: Saban, Urban [best ones out there]
A-tier: Dabo, Smart [excellent coaches with something to show for it]
B: Fickell, Aranda [guys that could win something significant under right conditions or have as coords]
C: Campbell, Fleck, Leipold [above ave coaches]
D: Average P5 coaches
F: Frost, Riley [Most games stop at D 😁]

Leipold really shows what the right coach can do. People on here last year were still rationalizing Frost and thinking with more time he would right the ship despite going 3-9 and having 4 straight losing seasons. Meanwhile at freaking Kansas where they haven't won more than 2 conference games since 2008 and more than 3 games overall since 2009, they are on their way to an 8-9 win season in year 2 with the right hire.

I'd love Leipold or Aranda.

Aranda should be you’re #1 target. He would bring back your defense. He also would probably be happy to leave the crumbling Big 12 for the Big 10.
