I’m assuming we are using a search firm to proactively reach out to coaches we may be interested in to gauge there interest in WVU? This is probably something we’ll hear about after the search is over but was just curious if anyone knows?

I continue to hear the same 3 names (Brown, Fickell, Gibson) I would hope we are interviewing more people!

Why not reach out to Leach, Charlie Strong, Bielema, Addazio, Nussmeier, Aranda etc? I hope some new names emerge tomorrow.

I hear great things about Brown, but it also worries me that he was up for several other Power 5 jobs (Louisville, Kstate, etc) and at the end of the day they chose someone else. I would think if he’s as good as advertised he would have been selected by one of those schools.

WVU is not using a firm, to the best of anyone's knowledge and any AD worth a damn always keeps a short list of candidates on a spreadsheet and follows their ups and downs throughout the season. This is especially true when the current AD didn't hire the now ex-coach and seemed indifferent at best towards him. Lyons had the chess match of this season played out many times and had contingencies for every situation, including the current one. Lyons has looked pretty damn professional throughout this process so far.

Dave Aranda would be funny.
He was Tom Herman's college roommate.

Aranda is happy where he is at from what I here.

But Aranda's stock is on the decline.
The mystique is not what it once was.

I still think he would make a good coach.

I think WV should check out Texas DC Todd Orlando though.

He is from Pittsburgh. Coached HS Football in Pittsburgh.

Excellent recruiter
Plays the modern attacking style of D.

When Herman took the job at Houston Aranda recommended Orlando .

He was the DC when UCONN was good
Randy Edsall made the mistake of not taking Orlando with him.
