I really question whether Rhule has actually been to Lincoln. Too many people out there with smartphones that would capture a picture and Trev knows that would have been the case.

I know that you all are saddened by our current state of affairs, but can we stop these repetitive threads about something we know nothing about? The only thing we know is that we will have a new coach in a week or two. That and everyone will hate the hire. LOL

The Athletic’s Mitch Sherman, Nebraska football might have flown in former Baylor and Carolina Panthers coach Matt Rhule to interview for the head coaching job.

He wrote that “a private jet, registered to an Omaha trucking company that has provided significant financial support to the [Nebraska] football program, flew Monday from Omaha to Charlotte, N.C.” Charlotte being Rhule’s home since he was most recently coaching the Panthers, who play in Charlotte.

The only possible intel leak was Auburn writers giving Nebraska writers the scoop about Rhule potentially taking the Nebraska job and not being a candidate for Auburn.

As I’ve repeated multiple times in other threads, what we actually know is Trev is looking for a CEO. Not just an offensive coordinator, not just a defensive coordinator, not just a recruiter. A CEO who can manage and oversee all development, innovate, manage the power NIL has on a locker room, manage the transfer portal, develop coaches and players. There’s so much work to do it would blow people away.

I don't remember the specifics because my brain is a weed tar addled disaster zone, but it seemed rather official at the time it was posted and everyone seemed to take it as it actually happened. I'm not going back searching through posts to find it, even with a search option. Seemed legit.

I'd like to see the photographic proof! Ha.

I just don't believe Trev would be foolish enough to conduct an interview like that in Lincoln. Those high profile interviews like that being sniffed out by the Press are usually conducted in a different city somewhere.
