Same kids, but 44 points. They even threw that dumb TE pass behind the line. Difference was they threw it to Lindenmeyer who can move laterally. Resulted in an 8 yd gain.

Defense was poop at times, but we played lots of puppies out there.

Holgorson's bluntness seems to offset some of Rhule's beta qualities.

You have to have a McBride for an Osborne, and maybe they have that now.

Coaching does matter. Today proves it. Rhule just saved his job and this program by breaking script from our past several coaches and was willing to fire his buddy Satterfield and bring in someone good. I doubted he would do that. He proved me wrong and I am thrilled

Is Satterfield off the coaching staff?
No

Demoted to TE coach

Then to top it off Holgorsen further emasculated him by benching his top TE and getting infinitely more production from the guys Satt has refused to play for the past 2 years

Kind of feel bad for the guy

I don’t, bork has been our best TE all year, time to put Fifone out to pasture or dogfood

It’s not as simple as Changing TE

Fidone screens is more of the issue, satt currently lacks big picture that DH has

I am beyond curious to know what DH has done during his short time here… like what things were his focus to impart the competence this team lacked? I wanna know the details.

Until he starts repeating results, I’m not fully sold, but boy did the offense run so much smoother, and it really felt like DH schemed a plan that finally elevated our guys into a level tapping into their potential.

Hell yeah! Everything is good now! 9 mil a year and he is 6-5 in his second year. Program is heading in the right direction!! What a slobbering idiot. Happy for the players, though.

Lingenfelter? You mean Bob Lingenfelter? He exhausted his eligibility in the 70s after earning All-Conference honors at OT. His lateral movement is not very good these days, nor is his forward movement. But he could still bulldoze a few defensive linemen. Winking

I see South Carolina is having a great season. They owe us for taking Satt off their hands.
Some of their fans literally did exactly that when Rhule hired him IIRC. I could be misremembering but I seem to remember them coming here to post how bad he was, how they were happy to have him gone and petty much tell us "haha good luck with that"

It was just as bad when we took Cosgrove off Wisky’s hands. Instant upgrade for them

For starters, he doesn't rotate 3-5 players every down. He lets the big dogs eat, holds players accountable, and does not telegraph his plays with sub packages. The offense ran in tempo and rhythm yesterday. The offensive line blocked for RBs who ran through the holes they opened, a first. Wiscys defense was on their heels. They scored on 6 consecutive drives.

This. He recognized who our best running back was and got him lots of tds. Basic stuff

Bob is one helluva dude! My favorite guy to sit next to at local BB/VB games. Great perspective on Husker FB, and especially OL play and offensive philosophy. Good story teller — but not quite as good as one of his younger brothers. Very knowledgeable about lots of different subjects. Sings the National Anthem very well, which is not easy to do!

This is exactly what I have been wanting to know, as far as the difference between DH and MS. Plays are plays, but this helps clarify why there has been such a significant turnaround in a short time. Much appreciated!

Defense is going to need some serious work next year, Wisky had about 7.5 yards per play yesterday, and Iowa is probably going to come close to the same.

You were not misremembering. There were many fans who told us that Satt as OC was a disaster, and the minute they took him off play calling duty their team did a 180. Most of us had our blinders on, but hard to argue with now. Glad we seem to have found a good one in Holgerson. Hoping for a couple changes this off season to beef up the staff even more

Seems like Rhule is very hesitant to give DH any credit. Was a little disappointed at what I heard at the press conference. Clearly play calling has made a significant difference.

It's not just the players as Rhule continues to say. Maybe he is just trying to be the "nice" guy to his buddy but it'd be okay to credit and complement DH with a good offensive game plan and call.

If it were me, as I said before, give DH full control (recruiting, personnel etc..), make him an Associate Head Coach today and do whatever is necessary to keep DH here. DR and everyone else on offense has benefited and it's only been 2 weeks.

Bc Rhule was told to hire DH. Rhule seemed bummed our offense did so well. He needs to put his ego aside or gtfo

Satterfield was always terrible what a disaster he was. Whether Rhule was forced to hire DH or not it is a night and day improvement.

Everyone had the book on how to defend Nebraska’s offense, with the predictable play calling and clear tips from sub packages.

Then DH arrives, and suddenly those trends are gone. Wisconsin caught us at a bad time, for Wisconsin. Poor, Wisconsin. They didn’t have the luxury of knowing what we were about to do like all of our other opponents.
