Since a lot of our fan base wants a coaching change, give me your best five coaches that would be qualified for this job?

You're a tool. No they don't.

I think he's saying they want Cal to change, not a coaching change.

I don't think at this point in his career you're going to see Cal change much. Although, when Cal went to UK Coach K had to adapt to stay relevant. Maybe he will, maybe he won't. We're fine either way.

There is a big difference between that and picking five who would realistically leave where they are now to take the job.

Like Mark Few and Jay Wright would probably do pretty well here on the court and in recruiting, but unless we gave them a blank check and told them there is no limit on your salary, I can’t imagine why they would ever leave voluntarily Gonzaga and Villanova for another coaching job.

I’m not sure how good few would do here, now jay wright he would definitely have success but he’s not leaving Villanova

Cal needs to change his philosophy and style but it’s not likely to happen. Read where he stated he was disappointed the players on the floor didn’t get mintz more involved abs get him open looks and this puzzles me for two reasons. 1) he played 9 minutes- no ones fault there but cal’s. 2) if he wants a player involved more he needs to coach his team to do so. Can’t leave it for a whole brand new team to figure things out on their own on the fly but seemingly this is what he does.

Fake news. Most want Cal to change.
That's it right there. I am convinced and said on here before, I think when Cal is motivated and feels slighted, there is not a better coach in America.
I think most just want him to focus the energy he uses toward the NBA toward UK and his team that he actually gets paid to coach. Not to be a spokesman for the NBA.
The coaching job he did in 2011 is the best he's done at UK imo. That's the Cal I believe is the best of the best. Hungry, a little angry.

I don’t know why Allen don’t see the floor more

Look at how good he is recruiting at Gonzaga. He'd kill it at Kentucky. Question would be if he was up to the task of dealing with all the extra crap that comes with being the coach here.

I love Cal as our coach and think he's perfect for the job. I will defend his ability to recruit, and his ability to develop AAU players into a cohesive team by the end of the year such that we always have a fighters' chance of winning the whole thing. As Virginia showed recently, champs need a LOT of luck to fall their way to win it all, unless they can just run roughshod over the other teams (see 2012 UK).

That being said, it drives me nuts to see Cal's teams stand around the perimeter on offense waiting for the ball to come to them. Instead of yelling "GOOOOOOO" I'd rather hear him yell "MOVE YOUR ***!!!!" on offense until a series of proper offensive sets can be implemented.

Cal is my coach. I hope he rides it out and finds a way to win a few more before he retires.

He’s got an assistant that recruits well internationally,no way we could get those guys cleared here

#1 is a valid point, but for #2 how do we know that he didn't coach his team to do that, but they just didn't listen?

I do agree with your overall point, however. I don't want Cal to leave, but he is stubborn as a mule. I would love to be a fly on the wall during coach's meetings. I'm curious if our assistants are just sycophants or actually call Cal out on some things.

Until cal turns In his sneakers I see little point in threads like this. John is our coach . He’s prob gonna be here a while . So let’s all hope pray he gets tired of the disappointing losses and adjust his approach. I’m pissed off at him , but he’s still the guy for the job .

If the players are not executing what is being asked then the bench is your friend.

Honestly I think his comment had more to do with just a couple of possessions where mintz was open but they didn’t get him the ball and instead did their own thing. I’m sure this will be brought up in film and practice but when you are struggling to put the ball in the basket as we were the entire 2nd half you would think you would get a couple more shooters on the floor and make sure your team knew they were out there.
