Your current coach at least has some pelts on the wall

Ours is a fat blowhard whose record when dealing with free agency doesn’t even approach 40% wins

The coaching carousel is the highlight of our season when we’re fortunate enough to participate

I'd still take Walters. He's going to be good once he gets the team rebuilt. The iu guy could be good, but he's 62 and got the keys to a really good FCS program. He's pretty unproven still imo.
Dang, that Boilermaker symbol shines bright! I did not even @ you and you saw the light.

People said the same things about Klieman. Cignetti has been a head coach at three different programs and never had a losing season. He also took JMU from FCS to FBS and hasn't skipped a beat.

I've been following the thread. I'm skeptical of the hire for iu. Half his team is in the portal and he needs to rebuild a bad team at a school that doesn't care about football. And he's 62 and never won at this level. His only rebuild is Elon.

There is also a difference between getting the keys to a good James Madison program and trying to rebuild the worst P5 football program ever when half the team is in the portal and the fans don't care about football. At the age of 62. The couple iu fans I know aren't crazy about the hire. Maybe he rebuilds them and makes a bowl in the next 4 years? Then what? He retires?

This hire sort of looks like the LL hire at KU.

Super ****** P5 program, total basketball school, they hire an older(ish) dude with tons of experience just not at P5.

I do NOT expect to see IU win a lot but I bet over the next 10 years they go to the same amount of bowl games as other lame schools in this conference.

Didn't realize Liepold was that old. It's all going to come down to admin support at iu. Does he get it? I honestly don't know

They might even win their first bowl in 30 years

He did inherit a good program, but he had to make the transition from FCS to FBS, which is not an easy task. In his first year of FBS he won 8 games, and in year 2 he's won 11 games. That's pretty impressive to me.

Nick Saban and Mack Brown are still coaching at age 72 so he could coach for another decade or so yet.

Umm, 35 years ago today, Nov. 30, 1988, Bill Snyder was named head football coach at Kansas State University. Snyder at his news conference said that "the opportunity for the greatest turnaround for college football exists here today, and it's not to be taken lightly."

The Wildcats of K-State were in dire straits before the University of Iowa offensive coordinator was brought on as HC. Looking back 76 seasons, from 1913 upon joining the Missouri Valley Conference, Kansas State had a .341 winning percentage, 231-462-33. That was the worst in college football by an incredible margin. If you gave Northwestern (the next worst team) 100 additional losses, they would still be above Kansas State at the time. matte_purple (edited)

some believe as i do that kotelnicki is to lance leipold as chris petersen was to dan hawkins at cu. we'll see how it develops.

This is why I didn't want Nebraska to hire LL. Everyone knew KU would just promote Kotelnicki to HC and I wasn't sure I wanted to see what a LL team looks like without his OC.

That is a pretty cool start!

Also, that ******* building, when it gets rocking, is insane and a house of horrors for opposing teams. Had IU (basketball) got Brad Stevens like they tried, over and over and over, it would have been a nightmare for the Big Ten.

Holy smokes! You need serious help. All you need to find a team with a skinny blowhard head coach…

Newsflash: Coaches can be mistaken for blowhards! News at 11!

The coaching carousel didn't work out so great when we hired Mike Riley and Scott Frost. Jury is still out on Matt Rhule. If Matt Rhule doesn't succeed, that would be three strikes against Nebraska in the coaching carousel.
