Rhule and I have that in common.

My wife was in another room and thought I was being murdered when Purdy threw the INT.

She probably wished I was being murdered after the next play.

The way they ended the season is the exact way it started in August. Gotta admire the consistency of suck.

It doesn't matter what Rhule says, he's gonna be criticized on this board no matter what.

What exactly should he be praised for?

He played 11 bad teams this year and only beat 5 of them. Any coach at any other program would be criticized just as much, if not more so, for the results he produced this year.

Did I say he should be praised?

Cripes he's being critized or mocked for saying "I hate the way it ended."

Also, put things into context. Yes, we played 11 bad teams, but we're also a bad team.

He does seem to be the least liked 1st yr coach yet.

I don’t know about that. I like Rhule. Disgusted by the way the season ended, sure, but I still like the guy and think he can get it done if he’s aggressive in NIL. It’s just been a long 7 years for everyone.

This is the problem with not owning your f*ck ups

You repeat them over and over

Everyone in the state knew we would blow it today just like everyone in the state knew we’d get bent over in OT last week

Not even particularly Rhule specific, but I knew we wouldn’t get it done. Out program has made a virtual science of losing close games in every conceivable way the past few years. IIRC, the last time we won a close game against an opponent we weren’t supposed to beat? Purdue on the road in 2017, with fricking Tanner Lee at QB during a 4-8 season. That’s PATHETIC.

For most, seems that way. Myself... not as much, I wanted Riley gone after the very first year.
I strangely want him to stick around. It's not about record, but position groups. Overall, I think he is improving guys. He's developing young talent for the long haul.

MR is a long haul guy. If so, I really love this.

PS - the wacko beard?!?! What's going on with that?

I like the guy as well. But it doesnt't disguise the fact that he is not a good coach. Watch the last 4 games and you tell me what kind of (.500) coach he is. Well, let me enlighten you. Not a very good one.

Not a very good one. 3 out of the last 4 losses were on his ***. And the 4th? A coin toss. Any average coach, with this weak schedule, would have made a bowl. That is including Mike and the ginger-drunk Frost.

No, that award would go to Mike Riley, because we knew we were getting a mediocre coach right from the beginning.
Idk man I think there were tons of people saying Mike rillllllley was just held back at OSU and with resources he'd be great here.

There’s away around that. And he hasn’t proven he can.
Right. He can't prove to flip things around in just 1 year. Totally reasonable expectations.

I'll look forward to you no longer posting on this board when Rhule turns this program around.

A couple of things can be true at the same time. The final 4 games were winnable AND we're not a very good team.

Maybe Rhule is a good coach in the sense that he's taking a bad team and putting them in position to win games.

I saw dudes in positions to make plays and they didn't.

We're there? I happened to be home with the kids that day and was watching ESPN. I had to Google him. No one I knew was happy with that hire.
