This explains why he wasn't out recruiting and the GA's were when alot on these boards thought he was leaving.

It will be 10 years next July that our son had half his tongue removed and replaced with other parts of his body. Never smoke, drank or chewed. Tall, thin runner. You just never know. Lots of side problems when they are working in the throat area. Prayers to him and his family.

Awful thing.... affects so many... sorry for your loss
Thanks Spartan. Like many others, my dad had a glass of beer maybe once a month, didn't smoke, ate pretty well, exercised a fair amount - he did the right things, but lymphoma got him at age 74. Wished he could have lived longer because he was a character and I enjoyed his dry wit.

This is awful news, but it sounds like the diagnosis is positive.

I wonder if Frost and Chinander will cut back on the chew after this? Frost has a young son to think about now.

Hopefully it helps give Scott a wake-up call that he needs to stop dipping. Stuff will cost him big chunks of that pretty face so many Husker wives love so well.
Erstad needs to quit the chew also. He can't even leave it alone when he's being interviewed on the radio. Knowing what we know about tobacco and oral cancer, you're a fool if you dip. Grow a set and quit the crap. Sorry HTO, that's the truth.

That's right! I'm afraid he is "hooked" on the chewing tobacco. I tasted it once and spit it out immediately. Then I wanted more!!!! What? That stuff is addicting and I hope Scott kicks the habit...
