I said this after last year's game at the RAC and I'll say it again. He seems like a really good man, just like our Pike. Anybody see his postgame presser? I know they all praise each other bla bla bla. But this guy seems genuine and sincere. I like him. Can't say I feel that way about pretty much anyone else associated with the cult.

Didn't realize rather than go back to State college he had the team stay in Piscataway since the Iowa game per BTN. 3 nights? Seems strange.

Makes some sense given there are no classes to attend and there's nothing to do in State College when classes aren't in.

I thought he was in trouble a couple of years ago but he brought in some nice recruits and PSU has been patient with him. It would really help him if they made the NCAA's this year with Stephens and Watkins graduating.

He also stated that he really hopes that Rutgers makes it to the NCAAs for Pike's sake. They both seem to genuinely think highly of one another beyond the usual coach-speak.

They got hosed with NCAA’s recently. They will make it this year and win a game or two. He seems like a very good coach. Smart that PSU stuck with him.

He has some set of pipes. During a 2nd half time out, I could hear him tearing into his players all the way up in the 200s. Over all the crowd noise, the band, and the jumbotron. It was a 2 minute tongue lashing. Thought he was going to have a stroke

I’m a guy who really despises penn state but I like and respect Chambers. Anyone who calls our coach Pikes on the post game interview is not a bad guy.

Penn State has a very good team and I also thought Pat was on his way out the door two years ago. He managed to bring in some good players and keep it together to get through the storm.

Can’t say I’ve watched too many post game pressers with a coach we just beat, but I hate that i now like this guy.

His biggest coaching test will be next year without Stevens but he seems to be able to recruit additional talent into his program and used the grad transfer portal wisely (kid from St. Bonaventire - didn’t have a good game against us but played lights out against Iowa)

Like last night's post game presser, I think I remember Chambers being very classy in both post game pressers against Rutgers last year and that's what really elevated my respect for and impression of him. Can't say that about too many other opposing coaches.

Since PSU hoops doesn't deserve as much villification as the football program, I don't mind seeing them enjoy some success as it reflects well on him as a coach. Seems like a stand-up guy.

His playing Iowa at the Palestra during winter break was very very smart for Philly area recruiting.. easy train access for recruits from the region.

Think he would consider a home game vs us there? His home game that is. Would it be worth having games vs PSU be at the Palestra and MSG for a few years to build recruiting? RAC can be a big advantage.. but games at both places could easily see more RU fans than PSU fans.

The Palestra game happened against Iowa in part because Fran McCaffrey played for Penn. They also beat Michigan State there a few years back.

Considering they're now 2-0 there and the place was rocking, I wouldn't be surprised to see them try to schedule one game there every year. Then it comes down to B10 scheduling, since they do these games over winter break when students are not in State College.

Not really. Especially if still on semester break and it encompassed a weekend.

Less travel since Piscataway is probably 90 minutes from Philly by bus. Film study in a hotel meeting room on Sunday. Arrange for a gym to practice in on Sunday. Walk thru in the RAC Monday night. Shoot around in the RAC Tuesday morning or afternoon. GAME.

Or fly home late Saturday night film review and practice Sunday. Practice Monday morning & fly to NJ right after practice. It's a lot of back-and-forth travel in a short period.
