I know what he's thinking but not saying...

Fox + Monk + Giles = dare I say it?

This. I been drooling for this forever. I love Coach Cal's fight. It's not like we are dying for recruits in this class anyways. Why not go all out, we are pretty much set already.

I have a strong feeling that Giles has told coach Cal that he is going to Duke or will most likely pick Duke. That's why Drew Franklin is saying Giles to Duke is a done deal and also why Cal as just started to recruit Allen heavily. I think Coach Cal is just being supportive in case he changes his mind and because it's never truely a done deal until the player announces where he will play. Heck the chrystall ball has Duke at a 94% and Wake at a 6% and doesn't even list UK so why are people on this board even considering its a possibility?

Sweet baby Jesus... When will we learn KSR is not reliable for recruiting info. Seriously, drew Franklin knows where Giles is going but not another insider on any board out there knows yet.
Wow.

Umm 96% of the national recruiting analyst think he's going to Duke and think UK has a 0%. How do you not see the writing on the wall?

Wow.

Actually, KSR (at least MJ) is better connected than some may think...

If he told Cal he was going to Duke why would he be at his game tonight?

Cal is always going to give 110 percent on the studs he wants, even if they are longshots. I don't expect Giles here, never have, but can guarantee that Cal shot the breeze with Steve Smith, and kept that relationship friendly. There will probably be several more Oak Hill recruits down the road and that relationship will pay off.

Seems like many years ago that Marcus Camby was a so called lock for UConn and we know how that turned out.

It would take those 3 to make it his best class ever. W/o Giles it'll be right up there but not his best.
Yep. And I'm almost certain it's what he had in mind when he made the "best class ever" comment a few months back.

And I also say don't sleep on Wenyen Gabriel. Yeah, he's rated outside the top 10 by most right now, but I'm betting that doesn't last. Last year at this time, Brandon Ingram was rated right around where Gabriel is now. Ingram ended up 4th in the RSCI. Gabriel isn't the shooter that Ingram is, but there are physical similarities, and Gabriel already does a lot of things better than Ingram. Gabriel probably won't end up top 5, because this is a stronger class than last year, but by April 2016 the list of the guys in the recruiting class that the NBA is really drooling over very possibly reads Giles, Jackson, Tatum, Fox, Monk, Smith, and Gabriel (and maybe Thon Maker). Even without Giles, that's 3 for UK, 2 for Duke, and 2/3 for everyone else.

If Cal could pull a miracle with Giles, UK could have 4 freshmen all projected in the top 10 of the NBA draft.

I guess Coach Cal didn't get the memo from the "experts" that Giles is already signed, sealed and delivered to Duke....

But...but....but....we're recruiting Allen, so doesn't that mean Cal has given up on Giles?

-growing board narrative based on logically deduced opinions that turn into unsubstantiated "facts."

Throw in a Drew Frankin tweet, and it might as well become Gospel.

Gotta love when people continue to come on here and speak like something is fact when in reality they know as much as what just dropped in the toilet.

It does amaze to see some state things (In writing) like they are fact and come back with more gusto after the fact they are proven very ignorant and very wrong. Shame plays no part in anything, anymore. It used to be that people could be made and were made to be ashamed of their actions or statements. Key words; "used to be".

Ok so now I guess that means Giles is ours? Please.

Duke bound. But I truly believe cal thinks he has a shot. That's good enough for me but I still think he's Duke bound and always has been.

When some say he is Duke bound it suggests that they believe that is the best program. It may be based upon K. and Championships the past several decades. But, others may believe that Kentucky is the best program of this era/decade with Cal and their track records. Certainly, these 2 programs seem to be the elite of the elite. I would have included UNC but with their academic scandal (although I believe nothing is going to happen negatively from the NCAA) it still looms as a risk for recruits. Thus, if what has been written on a few recruiting sites that we may get Fox, and Monk, with the other two recruits, Giles might decide to be part of a possible even greater recruiting class than we have had before. It depends upon his friendships and comfort with these other players and whether they are coming to UK. Maybe, just maybe it also gets some other recruits to make a decision instead of waiting too long and being aced out of the opportunity to play at Kentucky. I would guess there is a lot of gamesmanship to all of this as well.

Do not understand why so many people think this is a done deal for us.Cal would not be wasting his time if he didn't have a good shot at getting him,but this one time I hope that I am and y'all are right lol

While it's true that UK made up a lot of ground within the last month, Giles is still a Duke lean. IF Monk makes a decision for UK in the next week or so, then some more ground will be made up, but not enough, I'm afraid.

Cal "wastes time" all the time recruiting. Sometimes you know you have no shot but you set the table for future kids in that area. He's showing love for Giles. It completely doesn't actually mean he thinks he's getting him.

Giles is a heavy Duke lean. He's from they area, and anyone close to the situation thinks Duke. I'm sorry, but I'm not getting my hopes up for this one.

You speak in a lot of absolutes; where is your info coming from? The internet?

WE have plenty of room for 2 big men and I think Cal would like to get 2 more if he could since Gabreil is SF . so Allen and Bolden ( Centers) have little to do with Bam and Giles ( PF ) . Still with all that being said most of us know we will end up with either Allen or Bolden as Bam and Giles probably made their minds up a long time ago. Still I love how Cal never gives up as once in a while you get a Randle situation where a kid goes the place you never expected.

This...just because the odds are heavily against you, doesn't mean you don't keep trying...you don't know until you know, but I know Giles is going to Duke.

I feel good about Monk joining Fox in OUR backcourt. Someone has to tell me different, until then, I think he'll be a Cat. Just a matter of when.

Are you still hearing Spring decision? Also, why would his decision help Giles?

Also -- Matt Jones tweeted he will talk about Giles on KSR this morning. I'll try to listen -- but if anyone else hears -- hopefully they'll post.
