After hearing what Kidd-Gilchirst's mom said about you on this college TV special I just saw, sir, you are the man. I've worked with inner city AAU kids and more. Even went thru parts of their recruiting process. Heard promises from programs here and there, but for the love of God, you deliver. Promises kept. No lies and deceptions. Tough to do in the business of college basketball. Keep doing what you're doing. Haters will never stop.

It was a long segment just now on NCAA on TruTV or one of them. Interviewed Kidd-Gilchrist mother and the lady wept as she was basically saying thank you to Cal.

Man, coaches can say what kids want to hear to pull them in. Cal said what they NEED to hear. These kids have little to no father figures in their lives. Cal is a breath of fresh of air regardless being the coach at UK.

Saw this on TRU TV a few minutes ago. It was a great clip. She actually broke down in tears while telling
what Cal had done for him. I wish I had know it was going to be on so I could have recorded it.

It's a shame they don't say in advance, as far as I know, when things like that air. I caught most of it & the OP is right. It was really good.

I assume they will air it on 1 of the other 3 channels if they haven't already. Would like to know when

Never had a kid go before Cal and his recruiting pitch, but after hearing her words, and a few others, it's all the same. Brutal truth with love.

I've had a few kids go before Pitino, it's quite different.

That originally aired a couple years ago. It's called Bluegrass kingdom: The gospel of Kentucky basketball. Narrated by Drake(I think). My favorite segment is the Joe B. Hall one where they talk about ending IU's season after getting embarrassed earlier that year in Bloomington.
