You want him to compare himself to those years because YOU want the amusement and for him to be humiliated. Do you really think he wouldn't love to win like that? Do you really know all there is to know about what's going on behind the scenes, the mess that Cal left behind? Some people are never happy.
Agree completely with prior sentiment. Loser mentality to compare yourself to the previous results we were unhappy with. That is not understanding the assignment.
There is a 0.0% chance he’s fired mid year next season barring an off court scandal. I think we can all be serious and admit that, while also acknowledging he’s on the hot seat next year
Yeah I'm nuts because I don't defend 14 loss seasons So you lay the blame on Cal for Pope sucking this season? You talk about what a mess Cal left but you don't think Billy Clyde left a disaster for Cal? Pope had the NIL and ability to choose players and this is what he landed. May has a title contender his second season but poor little Pope didn't stand a chance because big,bad Cal ruined his chances. Give me a break.

I read somewhere earlier today that Lowe’s dad said nobody at Kentucky had even had a conversation with him about coming back. If true I think they have other plans

Don’t have anything against the kid but to me that’s at least one positive. Never felt he was a good fit.

We'll see on the recruiting. Maybe they actually go get some guys. He also said something about a big focus being on the PG position so maybe we make a splash there. The proof will be obvious, either we get players that are elite and rated that way or we don't.

I’m done with this clown. I’ll probably not watch much next year. He’s a born loser with that mentality to compare apples to oranges. If pope was honest he would compare his first three years with tubby pitino (post probation) cal even Bcg and he’s there with Bcg. Making excuses is just a losers mindset. I have come to the conclusion that if Pope stays around, it’s gonna get really ugly and it’s gonna be like fans clashing with Mark Pope. He’s the one that came in and said all these crazy expectations when you can’t meet the expectations you don’t have your college show and make excuse make excuses . What are you doing? If you’re a legit human being you walk away you negotiate a buyout and you walk the hell out of there I I don’t think anyone has any idea what Mark Pope is about to experience if he continues on his UK‘s coach
There is a lot and I mean a lot of pent up anger, frustration, sadness, all these negative emotions and big blue nation and it’s been projected on Cal may be a little bit on Barney at first, but now it’s full blown anger like I’ve never seen and there’s no one to direct it at other than Mark Pope and you know the first two years you can give him a little bit of a pass because Barney you hired him for a job that he was over his head. Now though he’s decided to continue on when it’s clear that he is an awful fit. He can’t win the regular season games needed in order to get a good seed last year. We were over seeded by a couple lines.
So what’s left? We don’t know who athletic director is gonna be it’s not gonna be anyone that gonna do anything immediate in any measure so here’s to you, Mark Pope. You’re an awful fit for this university. You’re an awful fit for the south you can’t recruit the kinds of players. The Kentucky needs because recruits think you’re weird. They think you’re weird because you talk weird they think you’re weird because of your religion, you don’t come across as a normal person so you’re not gonna get normal players. You’re gonna get guys to see you as a pushover like JQ
I’m pretty much done. I’ve had enough of this BS soap opera. And it’s just gonna get even more soapoeraish. I mean, there’s a case this summer civil case for rape against the university and Mitch Barnhart specifically the president acts like we’re out of money. He’s definitely stressing. That guy needs to quit there needs to be a complete house cleaning. I need to see Barney lose his golden parachute name come off this complex. I’m not as concerned about JMI. I think a solid coach will find a way to work around that crap but I’m not gonna sit around and watch this stuff now off-season and then watch a crappy team that all this is drama is done in my opinion. I’ll be around a little bit, but I’m gonna wait it out man wait it out hopefully, heads roll.

Saying the last 2 seasons were better than the prior 4 is like being the smartest kid with down syndrome.

I began the season optimistic that UK had made a good hire as coach. I originally had not been enthused about hiring him and thought it was a gamble but I feel he did a really good job his first season given what he had to work with and time constraints.
This message board would have ran Golden off at Florida after his second year.......just saying. Lets see what Mark can do with a healthy roster....something he has not had yet.
When you think you've hit bottom, dig a little deeper. That's what this show did.
The man who loves Ky and understands the assignment will not exit without a fight. He also said Yaxel was lying- but he didn’t have the balls to say it until he was safe back in front of Leach.
Including Cals Covid year to his benefit lol. The last 4 years are why we grew tired of Cal. I thought I read where he says 99% of the fanbase was behind the team (ok with progress) but a vocal 1% were not.
This guy will not leave without getting fired. I also think he will have a meltdown the minute he senses his time is over. It will not be his fault. He is just a loser.
I have been saying this for a little while now. He is not a good guy he is a con man. He put a con on us and we are stuck with it.
Im glad he was able stand up there and face it head on at least. The comment about comparing it Cal's final years, when we had injuries of our own, was pretty weak. Cal would have avoided losses as well, every coach would.
But I do think some of the blame goes to a collection of largely piss poor players this year. So maybe some new staff, some better NIL packages/recruiting, I guess theres some optimism there. I wont deny that it does sometimes take coaches a little while to get going, but man this year was such a mess its hard to really look past it.

As an aside, does Leach realize the radio show is on video also? He's been doing the show forever and so I get it's probably not exciting stuff to him, but man put the phone away for the one hour show. Then again, maybe he gets the text questions on his own phone or something - if so, my bad.
Cal inherited a roster with an All American caliber player, Patterson, along with key pieces on final four teams, Miller, Liggins, and Jorts. Billy G had his quirks, to say the least, but the roster wasn't a wasteland.
Said that yesterday on the HOB. Someone asked why he could excel play under Pitino but not install the “Pitino Way” here. It’s because he is a world class follower but CANNOT lead. Players don’t respect him.
If he knew the assignment like he said he would not have brought up the last 4 years as a frame of reference. He is milking this for all its worth. Straight con man.
Lowe will not commit to come back until he sees who we are recruiting in the Portal. I doubt he would accept bring numero dos
