At what point does the NFLPA then get involved and advocate for him to be part of the active roster? I think there is a limit as to how many games a healthy player can be inactive before the NFLPA steps in.

There are 22 lawsuits against him. What does Houston think they can do with him once "the legal system runs its course"? They aren't going to get crap for him after that but are willing to pay him $10M now for standing on the sideline? Trade him, get what you can and move on instead of throwing $10M out the window

The comments section mentions that the limit is 4 games. Not sure if accurate or not.

Personally, not sure what the league is supposed to do here. Issue a rushed judgment on his eligibility before they have the facts? Watson is only inactive for one reason, he doesn’t want to play for Houston. He’s been skipping every bit of camp other than the bare minimum for him to not get fined. Hasn’t played a single preseason snap. He’s not ready at all to try and help the Texans win football games….probably isn’t even in football shape at all.

It’s a big game of chicken between Watson and the organization that is reflecting poorly on both of them. The least Watson could do is put his head down and get to work for the one organization that’s willing to pay him miliions of dollars while he’s got 22 sexual assault claims against him. The least the Texans could do is accept a reasonable trade offer that takes those lawsuits under consideration as to his overall value.

In any case, we should all have full faith that the same franchise that traded DeAndre Hopkins for David Johnson will figure out a way to manage this without any trouble whatsoever….
