Close games and B1G West

Who's with me on this? I'm tired of the build ups that Mike Riley and Bo Pelini would give us only to be blown out in all the big games. If we compete and lose a bunch of close games that's progress to me! At least we aren't embarrassing ourselves. If it's not a national championship season what's it matter anyways? I'd rather go 8-5 with 5close losses than 9-4 with 3 Bo Pelini style blow outs.
Another thing... Not saying we are Ohio State, but the Buckeyes lost to VA Tech and went on to win the CFB Playoff. We haven't lost a conference game so there's still time to make some noise in the Big Ten West!

Spin it any way you want but the fact is our head coach choked yesterday against a 1st year head coach.

Bo isn't the standard never has been. 5 million we need to win games and not settle for moral victories. I am in w Frost no matter what until year 5. But ******** rationalizing losses is a loser mentality.

I totally agree with you! I'm just saying there's still time this year to do some damage. I thought this year was gonna be a little too early for the hype it was getting. Hopefully we'll see glimpses in year 3. Hopefully by year 4, Martinez's senior year, we will start to be that consistent top 25 team again!

I was born a Husker fan, and always will be. My time as a Husker fan really began when they put a second back on the clock versus Texas. So my entire Husker fandom/experience has been during the worst stretch in program history. Forgive my optimism! LOL. I just never wanna make a trip to another championship game and get embarrassed like we were vs Wiscy

I agree blowouts suck but they had a 17 point lead for goodness sakes! Can they just step on an opponent’s throat when they have a lead and keep the foot on the accelerator until the final whistle? That would be a good start.

That's true. Hopefully we'll get a reality check from this and continue to learn and grow. The team that showed up in the first half could beat anyone in the Big Ten. Hopefully they'll get it together soon.

Before you apologists start ....I am not saying "FIRE FROST". However....This is the fourth year for Frost as a head coach....who by the way is making $5 Mil per year with a Defensive Coordinator who is making $800,000 per year. This should not be a learn as you go position...for either of them. But that is what it appears is happening. Throw in the fact that Martinez has taken a step backwards instead of getting better.

Even Tom Shatel from the World-Herald is pretty brutal on Frosts' coaching and play calling of this game. (read his article from Sunday)

Forget about winning close games. How about winning any games in the B1G. Maybe 3 or 4 with one of those being a mild upset. It currently looks like we could have another 4-8 year. Hopefully, it will get every ones attention and things tighten up and improvement is consistent.

It felt like a blowout to me when we gave up 24 points in the 4th quarter to a bad football team. Don't care how you slice it, there were no positives from yesterdays game. It does not matter how well you play in the first half, if you look absolutely terrible in the second half. If they repeat this performance they won't win another game this year.
