Clinton defense holding tough despite how long they been on the field tonight....offense only 1 first down so far and 2 turnovers
3 mins left in half Clinton defense holds again.....offense has to show something defense gonna be gassed by the 4th
Clinton has to needs to pass the ball Cape Fear has the safety lined up next to the LBs....one on one WR CB matchup with no safety help.....i would run the same.play JV scored on last nigjt
First team to score will win i think......Clinton has to throw the ball on non passing downs cause offense just alil to predictable....defense has played great but playing a big 3A school like this wears on you
I’m impressed by the Dark Horse defense. On the offensive side, the boys are still learning the Veer. They’ve had a few nice runs, but they were either marred by penalties or fumbles. Jalen Smith was very much needed tonight to soften that middle. He just has to stay healthy and not miss the big games, like he has seemed to do.
Defense has been awesome....that CF RB Boykin is the truth he just like last year has been hard to bring down but defense continues to fly around and make plays....only concern is the amount of time they been on the field....Clinton has had atleast 2 really good opportunities to get in scoring position or score the fumble that rolled down inside the 10 and the dropped TD pass hirt extremely.....whelp time to suck it up and see who wants it more
Interested to see these halftime adjustments......Kaba has had a coulle really good hits he is going to be a great asset for us
Cape Fear pinned Clinton deep no offense once again...played the field position game.....ran punt down to 16....Boykin scores a rugby style TD....Cape Fear 7 Clinton 0 1:21 left in 3rd
They literally pushed the pile 16 yards....not sure why it wasnt blown dead
6 mins left Clinton punting 8n their own endzone again....no offense....Cape Fear playing field position.....punt shaked Cape Fear has the ball on 17
And the mass exodus has begin in the Clinton stands.....Tough start for Coach Johnson...without #10 that veer aint hitting on nothing
Well, when you can’t pass the ball or can’t even get the option going because Cape Fear has set up shop in the backfield, don’t expect to win. That’s why the offense can’t be built around #10 because he cannot stay healthy.
Got some work to do atleast offensively....Cape Fear scored 2 tds by traveling a total 32 yards if that...no #10 definitely hurt Final Cape Fear 15 Clinton 0
We cant catch the ball trick play Kaba threw a perfect pass guys wide open gotta catch it....and it was like a jump pass that should.of been completed....overall defense did its job offense and some bad special teams play
Yeah me miss Chandler Perry punting! Agreed, they definitely need to work on the offense. Both scores were set u by bad special teams play which really put the D in a bind.
Cape Fear 33 yards on those 2 scoring drives....defense played great i dare anyone to think otherwise......Cape Fear's punter was the player of the gane in my opinion he just hit it perfectly both times and it just rolled perfectly inside the 5......gotta wonder why we didnt have somebody back there to maybe try and field it in save field position....smart moves by Cape Fear Coa ch......now in hindsight i wonder if maybe taking a safety would of been better
Still alot of work to do but give Cape Fear credit they have a excellent defense probably wont see a defensive front that good until we get to those WRH/ED games at the end of the regular season....besides Boykin they really dont have anything on offense like last year he put it on us when it counted and of course their punter.......on to East Bladen
Was listening tonight from AK, btw shoutout to radio guys, nice job tonight. Sounds like our D is very good, but apparently we only have 5 plays and all of them are dives. D was just gassed at the end and field position and turnovers killed us. I’m still waiting to finally see clinton open up their offense. Time will tell. But it was 10 in the box all night just last year, and years before that. Oh and guys mentioned tonight clinton in Jamboree ran with 2 wideouts split but tonight only 1, and not having Smith didn’t help. Still love my horses, and if we can find some Offense to go with that D, we will be just fine. From Anchorage, AK I’m out.
Yes offense has to open up CF literally had the single high safety move up in the box....something as simpmy as a 3 step drop quick slant over the middle would.of work wonders but still we haven't had anyone show they can catch the ball so i guess it really didnt matter...but yes defense is very good i wouldnt let those 15 points tell the story of the game.....if it wasnt for the poor field position we may be still playing in overtime lol
It was extremely hot! I don't think I've sweated that profusely since Vietnam, and I wasn't playing. No air movement, just HOT! 88 degrees at kickoff 93 heat index. Just saying everybody had to deal with it.

Hard to say this early. The Horses put out a tremendous effort tonight against a very good team Would have loved for them to have won but not disappointing. Scoreless through 3 qtrs, I think attrition got to them in the 4th qtr. That's most likely to happen when you're playing a much larger school and you have several going both ways. No excuses, just facts, and numbers. I think the Horses will have a very good season. They have a number of things to work on they can improve. Coache's goal, "get 1% better each day." I think they have a good chance to advance past the 2nd round exit in the playoffs they had last year.

Defense seemed midseason form just hard to hold up when on the field the whole game. You all missed the big fullback Smith tonight.
Yep. Credit Cape Fear Coach he saw our offense not doing anything so he played the field position game to help his offense....punter booted a perfect punt(for some reason we didnt have anyone back there) and it rolled down to the 3.....offense came incredibly close to getting a safety punter standing in his endzone barely gets a punt off a line drive punt...CF returner runs it back to the 16....their stud back scores the next play with the help.of his oline who literally pushed the pile 10 yards...at one point i thought the runners forward progress was stopped but no whistle by the ref(whatever).....same thing basically happen again....CF two scoring drives combined yardage was like 33 yards...sorry not the defenses fault only so much you can do they were on the field all.night while the offense was going 3 and out constantly
