The guys have to start looking for the long pass down to Cliff off a miss. There was a play right before the end of the first half, I was watching him and he busted it hard after the rebound, beat literally everybody down the court but whoever had the ball didn't see him. He even threw up his hands little bit, was frustrated. I couldn't believe how fast he got down the court. Not many watch the Knicks, but it reminded me of Obi Toppin, same foot speed.
Guys gotta look for him should be 2 easy buckets a game.

His athleticism is why he has high potential to play in the NBA, IMO - and he'll do very well if he can develop at least a mid-range shot.

I saw that play by Cliff and was really impressed with his speed. You are right…he beat everyone down the court. The problem with that play was that all Rutgers players didn’t space out and everyone ran to the hoop and there was no room to pass to Cliff. Only Cliff should be going to the hoop on that break.

Jerry Carino was saying the same thing . You have a center that runs the court like a gazelle , you gotta use him on the break. The problem is who is the guard on our team that will get the ball down the court and get it to him? Don’t know if we have one on our roster

Do we have a fast break basket this year? I feel like we are a step slow to finishing it this year. I know we are missing Jacob and Montez but we still had fast breaks without them on the floor last year.

The reverse alley oop to Cliff today was a fast break . Late in game though

we are missing Myle's long outlets off boards.... perhaps Cliff should mostly be doing that and not hustling downcourt.. but I get the point.. someone/everyone who is boarding that is not Cliff should look for that. Especially if they see him challenge a three at the top of the arc... board and launch long ball...

Sorry to be Mr. Negative

Our #1 recruit for 2022-23 is on campus everyday. His teammates have to see him run the floor and get him the ball.

The guys need to learn (for the second year in a row now) that they aren't the best player on the team and facilitating rather than creating is our best path to success. Cliff should be scoring 20-25 points routinely. Give him the ball. Stop shooting disgusting threes and dribbling until you turn it over. Give. Cliff. The ball.

2 games into the year and this is already happening.
I'm hoping you mean in OOC and aren't hoping for "20-25 points routinely" the entire year from Clif.

Quick question - do you happen to know how many Big Ten players averaged 20ppg last year?
2 (Garza 24.1 and Ayo 20.1)
https://www.sports-reference.com/cbb/conferences/big-ten/2021.html

FYI: RHJ was 13th with 14.1ppg
(which is why my primary concern is with him. If his OOC pts are only at 13.5 so far, how much lower to expect once BIG play starts? Most were expecting INCREASE scoring this year hopefully)

Yup..Garza and Ayo. That's what we should be shooting for. Cliff has that talent. Cliff is gonna end up a better and more consistent scoring option than Harper and get drafted. We'll be lucky if he stays one more year.

Not pushing the ball so far this season has been a big disappointment. Pike needs to fix this asap.

Don’t we have this conversation every year?

We say “need to play faster, need to shoot more 3s, need to score more points, Player X needs to be on the floor for offense”

And met with “that’s not how Pike runs the team. Defense first is how Rutgers wins. We don’t need 3pt shots.”

That only works if you can shoot from the outside.
