It does not appear to me that Cliff has enough bulk to play the 5 in this league. That’s all.

I agree cliff needs to put on some muscle, and he will with time, but his game is also more being athletic than powerful

You might want to wait a little while before claiming this. He's a freshman who's played limited minutes. You're also assuming that you need "bulk" to play in the B10 and that's not necessarily true. The guy from Minny last year did pretty well. Cliff will get stronger, just give him time.

Not wrong. But just as important he needs to learn how to use whatever size he puts on. People were talking about him being a one and done. He needs another 2 years just to mature his body and game

I think he needs to bulk up. He might never be “bulky” but he doesn’t appear to be stronger than he looks, if that makes sense

I know that he’s a freshman. I‘m sure he will fill out. I’m not taking anything away from him but just saying he needs a little more bulk to play the 5. I can’t wait to see him in 3 years as well.

It’s a very good thing for Cliff to get experience like today to see what seasoned big men in the conference look like, play like, and feel like. He’s only 6 games into his career. Plenty of time to develop and I have a feeling next season will be his breakout campaign.

Cliff is a true frosh who is a freak athlete but not anywhere near a polished player. He just got tossed into the deep end of the college basketball pool. It’s gonna take some time and coaching.

Everyone should listen to Underwoods full post game presser.
He talks about the adjustment from high school to the B1G, he says the only similarity is the ball is round and the hoop is 10 feet high

Cliff is an incredibly well defined muscular 6-11.
He’s strong as ****, just needs to learn how to play at this level

I agree with OP becusse as I watched yesterday. I also thought that the Iowa kid will also use his body to eat Cliff alive. Now to be fair those are 2 future NBA players but that’s also how high our expectations are for Cliff !

He’s a freshman and a very strong one at that. Wait until he goes through a year or two of S&C and learns better technique. He’s going to be a beast. Remember Myles sat out a year and look at how he developed.

Cliff wouldn’t be playing if he wasn’t ready.

Just to clarify - Cockburn and Garza were both projected for late 2nd round/undrafted after last year.

“Future NBA player” (especially for Garza) is a generous label.
This will be a big year for Cockburn to improve draft stock.

I was about make a similar comment. He has to learn to play against people his size and bigger. Didn't happen in HS.
