Cliff will develop into close to a 20pt, 10 rebound guy next season, if he continues to develop at this pace. He has a nice looking outside shot, to go along with his ultra quick hops, and his rebounding will be elite by end of the year into next. Maybe add 10-20 lbs of good weight to his frame and his skills, he will be one of the best bigs in the country next year.

20-21 3.8 pts, 4.0 reb
21-22 11.7 pts, 7.5 reb (+7.9, +3.5)

He is not allowed to take this shot right now. He is capable not sure at what clip he would hit it though but we’ll never know. Big reason why the G league is going to come calling in the offseason and potential win him over with the selling point of improved development.

I disagree with Pike in that regard. I love when Cliff shoots the mid range. Even if he doesn’t make it, it forces the other bigs to have to come out and guard away from the hoop. It should allow our guards to rebound. McConnell and Mulcahy can clean up the boards and even Miller has shown he can grab a rebound.

Actually I think cliff should be taking these shots over those fadeaway hook shots. He has a nice stroke and he can create many complications for a defense if he starts hitting these.
That said, he really needs to work on some fundamentals like boxing out(he can out jump others but not always a good thing), developing some inside moves with fakes, and help side Defense.
Sky is the limit

Steve would have to allow dumping the ball into him and not just running plays for him that are alley oops. He’s not featured enough on offense. He doesn’t have to be the one to take the shot but we don’t run an offense where he is a threat where others can play off of him. Unfortunately, I don’t see that happening next year with Cliff either.

There’s a big difference between making these shots once in a while and being able to go to the well and feed him when you really need a bucket. If he can do the latter then he can be a superstar.

I’m okay with him taking the mid-range. Maybe not threes just yet. That way he can add it to his repertoire near the block. He needs to develop his game near the paint. Maybe if someone falls for a pump fake, he can drive for one of his signature dunks.

Cliff is gradually evolving his game, from a banger/dunker into a basketball player. He could emulate a player like Garza, who, through hard work, developed his game to the point where he had a green light to shoot any shot at any distance. As Cliff’s confidence builds, he’ll take and make more outside jumpers and treys.
