KM was Absolutely devastated by injuries. We were missing 8 starters against SP and then we lost our best lineman on the second series of the game. Tex Vaughn didn’t play at SP and KM was on our 5th string running back at SP. Luckily we were able to get a few of those kids back in the playoffs and brought a good group of jv’s up. This was in addition to losing five returning starters to transfer prior to the season last year. This current KM is still a young group who will return 15-16 starters after this season.Km ranking partly due to not having had to play the toughest conf. teams til late in the season. It's not an insult....just like last year ya'll didn't fall apart like it was reported...you just had to play some killers in a short span. KM was a good team with GOOD talent last year no doubt.
It matters, it always matters. Both took something away from watching each other play SP.
If he can keep the best athletes at the school they should do okay. Some of Gaffney’s best players were Blacksburg kids who attended Gaffney.Smart move. He gets paid. The pressure is minimal. If he has a winning season here or there and makes them somewhat competitive.
They’ll build a statue of him right in the middle of Temu Earl.
If he can get some of those Gaffney kids that don’t see as much playing time. He could have him a small school powerhouse
As far as Crest and KM blame your fellow GC AD/coaching brethren. SP, KM, and Crest were all in agreement that SP should play Crest the last game of the season and KM play Ashbrook the last game of the season because of the 5A/6A conference ramifications. The Gastonia faction didn’t want to move the Ashbrook/ Huss game to earlier in the season. You also had schools jockeying on when they wanted to play certain teams on the schedule. It was a cluster. Most of the GC ADs stick together and vote together. Herron go so frustrated he just told the KM AD that it doesn’t matter what order they play the games. Ashbrook got everything it wanted including a bye before their 6A game which is huge and spacing out KM, SP, and Crest. NG got the worst end of the stick. SP got ten games without a bye. Crest got Ashbrook and KM back to back last year when both teams were expected to be good.Real honest to goodness question… who does SP have to pay off in Cleveland County to get a decent schedule?
A bye week in the final week of the season....with every CC team playing each other? Surely thats just a coincidence.
Does CC at least send Thank You cards to the schedulers?

Gastonia running the show? I know who didnt win that talk....SP.Anyone denying this is a clown.
He’s 200 percent factual.
Ashbrook running the show….wow that is interestingGastonia running the show? I know who didnt win that talk....SP.
If athletic directors were making decisions based on conference standings and playoff positioning, then the real question is why the scheduling process allowed such different circumstances in the first place. If there was an agreement to benefit certain schools, show the evidence. Otherwise, we’re still dealing with one side of the story. You can question the decisions without automatically blaming every AD involved. The published schedules support the bye week comparisons, but they do not independently verify the alleged agreement among the athletic directors. As far as Crest and KM blame your fellow GC AD/coaching brethren. I always heard a hit dog will holler. You seem like an educated person so go back and read again slowly what I posted. There was jockeying by ADs and their coaches looking for a competitive advantage in the league. I never blamed EVERY AD because I noted that the SP AD/coaches were in alignment with the CC ADs/coaches on scheduling. Your response tells me that you are aware that the Big scheduling was a mess and/or doesn’t look right. It wasn’t lost on anyone how much Ashbrook had everything slanted in their favor last season. If athletic directors were making decisions based on conference standings and playoff positioning, then the real question is why the scheduling process allowed such different circumstances in the first place.
