It is not like I have any intel. It was just kids talking at that CFI Camp the other week. Of course I will say the first two rumors out of that camp happened to the teams they said they were going to with Agee and Bell. Will be interesting to see if the other rumors are true.

I will ask do you guys see any fallout at KM with Bell leaving? One of the KM kids there said some others could be on their way out if Bell left.

Anything could happen and I've heard same rumors. But if $ leaves east Lincoln I honestly feel like it would be for a school like Hough. But I think their is some deep family ties to East Lincoln

Honestly, I could see it as the total opposite, as far as kids leaving if the qb left, but you never know. IF some of the stuff that I saw online throughout the season is true, some players would welcome a change at the position. Some of the stuff I saw, the coaches wouldn't mind a change at the position.

Previous starter left and went to Ashbrook correct? Now current starter may or may not be looking for a different place to play?

Yes. From some of the stuff online and liked by the previous qb family, it was made to believe(from current teams camp) that Ashbrook was going to a spread and he would be giving the reigns, but that didnt happen in the end.

I heard all the same things you said about a lot of people wanting him to move on. I know that KM still has several Gaston County kids on the team. Again this is kids talk, but heard a couple of them may come back to Gaston County for their junior and senior years. May just be talk.

KM needs to make a splash hire and ASAP for offensive coordinator. Thats why I say a Beam hire would change the whole mood and excite the kids. Whatever they do, it needs to be done NOW, or I could see skill players making moves before spring.

Word on the street and NCPreps after the regular season is that KM coach couldn’t get out of KM fast enough. I guess he has changed his mind since then. Be interesting to see how that affects kids coming or going.

KM will not have many transfer out with maybe the exception of the qb. Good luck with that.

They have no idea what was happening behind the scenes with that.

I said it last year, Ashbrook was selling dreams and some parents fell for it.

KM actually has very few original GC kids on their roster. KM kids move to GC and then come back for high school and people call them GC kids. By that logic Ashbrook and Huss had double digit kids who grew up in KM, parents are KM grads, but the parents moved to GC later and we call them KM kids. Cramer has a decent season for once and then we get a “Surge” in gossip lol

He tried to leave after the Crest debacle.. That's a fact.
Everyone wanted to leave after that. Coaches, players, fans, cheerleaders, parents, boosters, and the mascot lol
Heck I know for a fact some of those Ashbrook players are wanting to come to Crest. That was a pretty big dream they were selling... No doubt.
GC went all in to stop families/kids from transferring to Cleveland County schools while at the same time allowing as many sports related transfers in as possible. There was a lot that happened behind the scenes. You have two head coaches from GC on record discussing how the county football coaches discussed how to get the limelight on GC over neighboring counties and what they needed to do collectively to make that happen. Some county coaches became disillusioned because the focus became the Gastonia high schools in particular Ashbrook football this year. Shoutout to the head coaches from SP, MIC, and BC’s former head coach who called out some of this GC favoritism behind the scenes. It was one of the reasons I was happy to see multiple CC teams win state titles. I am sure that stung after all of their efforts.

That’s funny I didn’t even know about these boards until this year. Amazing what a new coach and some optimism brings. By the way I do love these boards. You know as well as I do that you have 2 lineman that went to middle school at Cramerton and have no family affiliation to KM (maybe some 3rd cousin back in the 70’s). Like I said it is just kids talk about the gossip but it was the KM kids doing all the talking about leaving.

GC tried their best to set up Ashbrook for a State Title , all games against SP, Crest and KM at home , they went all in and came away with nothing
We all know how the Crest/Ashbrook game went , it would be a lot different result of they played again.
We all know that

Sincerely,

I think gaston county blocked 2 current Stuart Cramer students from transferring to KM this past year.

They was going to pay the $1400 transfer fee but Gaston County was going to block the state money from following them I believe..of course to Cleveland County.
Kings Mountain and GC schools have a unique history. 16% of KM city limits are within Gaston County. Prior to KM merging with the other county schools into one county system in 2004, almost all of those KM kids living in GC attended KM schools. There were a smaller subset of KM kids who lived within the Gaston County lines that attended GC schools. GC paid KM schools the state dollars allocated for the GC school kids in KM that attended KM schools. This deal worked well for years until GC schools started having budget struggles that happened to coincide with KM & Shelby schools consolidating into the CC Schools system. GC was looking for money when it decided those Gaston County KM kids need to attend GC schools so GC could close their budget hole. There was no shame or pretense on the GC side when it let everyone know it was about the money. KM & CC were pissed to be losing that amount of money on very short notice and also many of the KM parents located in those GC areas who viewed GC schools as an inferior product amongst other things. It got pretty ugly because GC property taxes within those KM areas went to Gaston County and they were not giving that up. CC later came back and said any GC kids wanting to transfer “come to death row!”

Actually that is not true. One of the lineman’s whole family tree is is KM and moved back with KM family after his father passed. Dad played at Crest Midldle and then Huss for high school but his granddad, uncles, and older cousins are ALL Kings Mountain High football alums. Thats why I say people need to be careful what they say. The other guy came to KM 2yrs ago but was 365ed by GC. He and his family still chose to stay because of how GC treated them.

Not sure about that with the exception of the qb. This young group is pretty tight and believe they can do something special together. I would like to see a dynamic OC but not sure that is going to happen though.

Yeah..I and others near me paid the annual fee for years for my kid not to go to Gaston County schools. It was an easy choice of one of the top elementary schools in the state or go to one of Gaston countys worst elementary schools. Almost half of the kids my kid started through elementary with , was transfers from GC because there was a lot of kids in that age range coming out of mountain manor neighborhood. This was around 2010

Cleveland County sports foundation has always been family lineage. Most longtime KM families know each other and more so when it comes to sports. You say many last names in CC and many people will connect that name with a CC school. It’s funny and crazy but true most times.
