Competitive for sure. I really detest big time college football looking like a normal big12 shootout though. The game is becoming too offensive
Surely that is not targeting.
Ridiculous. If that is targeting, you could call targeting on every 17ing play in a football game. Total ********.

That’s BS. He went low. Was nowhere near head or shoulders. How was he suppose to make that tackle?

Screw it, take the helmets off. If you can’t use one then take em off.
Oh so now it’s just tacking with crown of your head. So no forcible lunge, or impact to the head or shoulder area? Why not leave all that out and just let it stay with tacking with crown of head as targeting? So if your hit the legs with your head then it’s targeting?
By simply keeping his facemask up, just like they teach you all the way back in pop warner.
I don’t necessarily agree with the spirit of the rule in all instances, but it was definitely a case of targeting by how its clearly written now in the rule book.
Good game so far.
They didn’t teach that **** to me. Said lower your head and knock his *** off. Raising your head is when you get your damn neck hurt.

Your lack of knowledge of the rules of the game is astounding.
It’s astounding that I along with most others get confused at how this rule is interpreted. You act like this rule is absolutely clear with no one questioning it?
Well, your coach is damn lucky he didn’t get a kid killed or paralyzed then.
With the OSU rb journeyman they may have a chance against bammer
You were taught absolutely wrong. That's astounding and inexcusable. Head down is how you break your neck. Heck I was taught that back in the early 80s at a tiny backwoods school in Mississippi.
It's really simple, you can't initiate a hit with the crown of your helmet, period. That part of the rule is very simple and unambiguous. That was a cut and dried case of it. The other part about forcible contact to the head of a defenseless player is confusing.
