The point being that a decent coach taking over a FBS program located in the heart of a region loaded -honestly, overloaded -with very talented prospects can be successful quickly. Nebraska is not one of those schools and Frost is not one of those coaches.

46-24 with a conf championship and a rose bowl victory is what failing looks like at a true blue blood program

we went 3-9 in year 4 and decided that was good enough for year 5

Helton's USC teams finished
1st
2nd
1st
3rd
2nd
1st
in their division during his 5 seasons as HC. His conference record was 36-13, a 73.5% winning percentage. You have an odd definition of failure.

Helton was named interim coach at USC twice, first after Ed Orgeron was fired, then after Steve Sarkisian was terminated. They removed the "interim" label late in the 2015 season. Unlike Frost, the SoCal mlti-million dollar boosters never warmed up to him.

Frost could go to UCF or Florida Atlantic and likely would have reasonable success there.

His teams were good enough but not NC calibre. Honestly I think Helton is a bit more uncertain than we'd like to admit. Every coach we faced outcoached Frost. Literally every single one. Yesterday is not a good measuring stick.
