class ranking in the B1G

By my calculations, if we flip AMart and Williams, and get Crocker, Cam'ron Jones, Carson and Roberts, we would 1413 Rivals points for 16 recruits and be 8th in conference behind the Badgers. I'd say when it is all said and done that we end up 6th in the B1G overall. We might end up with a top 30 class.

Given that things are pretty late in the cycle, can they get 10 more without a couple of reaches? Maybe they take a couple of more JUCOs.

I don't think that would be a stellar idea. I think they get Amart, but the Williams kid is not a lock to flip. The Banks kid is now off the pickup board. Things could get a little thin soon.

Three is a class calculator on 24/7 sports. Given the group that was named above that would give us a 24th ranking with only 16 recruits. Get that number up and our rankings go way up too.

I have always thought the rankings make no sense. Some years you can have a big class and some years a small one, but as long as the quality is consistent that’s what I watch.

Callahan’s top rated class which was top 5 or 10 nationally was really boosted by the fact he was able to have a huge class. I think our current class is top 5 in the B1G based on quality. Of course we will be adding several faces to the group and I wouldn’t think the quality will improve much given the last minute nature of the recruiting.

I wish we were seeing a bunch of mature juco linemen coming on board. Most of the focus is understandably on qb and wr, but until we see much better lines we will still stink. Hopefully the new S&C coaches will be geniuses.
