please no one argue this point and ask me how I know but I am positive we will have two schollies to fill in this class. I’ve heard it will be more than likely one 4-year guy (hopefully mickey pearson) and then a transfer slot, whether it be a high level sit-out, grad transfer or juco. Most likely will be an immediate impact guy like a grad transfer.

Outside of Mickey Pearson and the new emerging SG at Spire in Cleveland (who im not a fan of) who else is realistic as that 4 year guy? Next year we should be a lot better than this year, but filling these next two slots are critical

Maybe Massoud if Wake fires their coach

He signed during the early signing period. So Manning would have to be fired and the new guy would have to let him go and then he'd have to pick Rutgers. Kind of need to shoot the moon to get him here at this point

Are there anymore Quinerly rumors? Or were they dispelled already?

What can you tell me about Pearson? Seems like the staff really wants him. What do they like about him? Any film to link? Inquiring minds want to know.

I was just trying to find some info on him this week. He wasn't mentioned in any of the few writeups I found for Hargrave games.

There is a chance. I was told from a great source it's 60/40 that he stays at nova right now. And if he does decide to leave no guarantee he comes to Rutgers anyway. But I can tell you that he certainly would be highly considering Rutgers. I've been told his one fear is that he doesn't want to "just be another corey", aka in his view a great player surrounded by little talent

solid 3 with outside shooting ability and ability to get to the rim as well. I personally think he gives us a ton of flexibility too because if we decide to go with small lineups, he can get by at the 4 for a few minutes here and there as I feel harper can too. Watch Nebraska tonight, how small there lineup is all game. You don't need monsters on the court in 2019 to win ball games

I don't see how he kid leaving could be anyone other than Doucoure.

I mean, on one hand yeah. But we've had a ton of talent transfer out for greener pastures. Ideally we're past that point but we're looking at another last place finish.

I don't want to speak anything into existence but you just never know.

Thanks. Lots of deep threes in the four minute highlight.
Looks like a player, but not sure of his shooting form - a little querky and toward the back of his head. They usually don't show a lot of missed threes in a highlight reel. That said, he looks to have a little Julius Erving in him. Two things I wonder though - why the limited offers and what is taking him to sign.

I think that's related. He was committed to Saint Louis but is taking the extra year to get and get higher offers.

I watched a couple of full game videos of Mickey. Against bigger stronger competition he was out muscled some and pushed around underneath. He will definitely have to add weight and muscle at this level.

He can hit from the outside, is very active and long. Would add to a press and zone also.

He was rated 2 star last I saw, but in my opinion he should be 3 star, but I will leave that to the experts like Russ. He Has potential but needs to get stronger, as most HS kids do moving up, especially non guards.

That seems obvious but I wouldn't bet on it. I could see a different guy going. Douc is a B1G body and seems excited. The other guy seems lost out there.

Don’t disagree that it’s a long shot. It happens every season though

When you look at next years team...I think we really have our 8 guys ...Caleb is the ninth

Johnson and carter share the center spot ...40
Minutes

Baker, young, Mulchay, Mathis, Eugene, Mathis, and Harper sharing 160
Minutes at the 1 through 4 spots

So unless you get someone who will unseat one of those six....I think you have to think in terms of what players can I get that I can develop for the kids leaving the year after
(Which are Eugene, Carter and thiam)

Two years from now we have Johnson and doucoure at center and Harper playing the stretch four.

I really think we need a big man in this class....low post player. Maybe even a JUCO . ....and redshirting is an option for development

Then...for the three ships for the class of 2020...would like
1.) center (Johnson and duke will be juniors)
2.) stretch four (Harper willl be a junior)
3.) a pure shooting guard with range OR a lighting fast point guard

The only one you could be talking about is Kiss and he doesn't look lost out there.

Kyk doesnt like Kiss and Thiam so I would assume he is talking about one of them transferring since he says we won't be upset by it.

Kiss can leave after next year if he graduates and be immediately eligible as a 5th year guy elsewhere ....while still playing next year

It’s not him

Sure we have 8 but realllllllly need to add another ATHLETE. Our team severely lacks athletes. Jacob Young is a much needed athlete. Ideally we land a grad transfer pg who can help mulcahy come along. A PG who is a good athlete and can play lockdown D.

Mulcahy- 15
Juco pg- 15
Geo-28
Young- 30
Mathis- 30
Mcconnell- 10
Harper- 20
Eugene- 27
Pearson- 10
Johnson- 20
Shaq C- 20

That would be like 30 minutes over our total minutes and thats without kiss or thiam playing a minute.

Kiss and Thiam= bolted to bench with a break glass for emergency purposes only

I would like the staff to find a way to get Kiss going for Offensive purposes. For example, Fri night would have been a good time to use him...he seemed to be playing with confidence (an issue imho so far this season) and he wasn't hurting us defensively (note my words...I am not saying he was great defensively).

I know it's hard to work a rotation of 10/10+ guys...but this team is challenged offensively and if Kiss can get going, we can beat a team like NW. to be more specific, when he is on the floor anyway (which he was for 10+ consecutive mins in the 1st half on Fri night), why WOULDN'T you run some sets for him to at least try and get him off? it would seem that having him in there for that long, and him only taking ONE shot (which he made), seems stupid to me.

so, my point is that I don't want to give up on Kiss yet...because we've seen what he can do shooting wise when he gets hot...but the staff needs to be a bit more sensible about trying to take advantage of his strengths when he is out there.

The Pearson highlight tape looks good. We could use a freshman recruit at the 3. Could bring him along appropriately next year behind our 3 guard lineup and Thiam (I know....) and he'd be ready to contribute as a soph

I know we have to look at under the radar guys and we can’t base everything on their star rating (see Doucoure), but Pearson being rated a 2 star scares the crap out of me.

Thiam may also be in that situation if he has progressed that far academically. That’s if either of them are at that point and have a desire to grad transfer. But who knows what will happen, if anything, so I guess we will see down the road.
