S. Elgin is teams to watch is interesting. They are probably, by far, the most likely 8A team to go undefeated.

South Elgin - Glenbard East will be great this season. GE beat S. Elgin 35-7 2 yrs ago and of course SE won the matchup last season.

Two up and coming programs, super excited about this matchup! Edit: Bartlett may also have something to say about this conf champ.

Lol...laughable. Lets see what happens week 1 when Bartlett takes on Edgys Glenbard South Team.

Well I would hope a team that wants to be considered an elite 8A squad would crush a school that typically hovers around 500 and is half their enrollment, don’t you think?

Bartlett couldnt get any offense going. I dont have numbers but the hawks defense was on the field 70 percent of the game. GBS has a solid team.

Took a look at the 15 teams ranked in Class 8A.
The games between two of the 15 teams ranked are:
Lincoln-Way East vs. Bolingbrook
Bolingbrook vs. Homewood-Flossmoor
Lincoln-Way East vs. Homewood-Flossmoor
Brother Rice vs. Loyola
Marist vs. Notre Dame
Marist vs. Loyola
Glenbard West vs. Hinsdale Central
The remaining teams in the preseason top 15 do not play another team ranked in the top 15 poll.
Warren
Maine South
Edwardsville
Barrington
Oswego
Huntley
If you add in the six teams to watch that basically are teams ranked 16-21, additional head-to-head games include:
Minooka vs. Oswego
Palatine Fremd vs. Barrington
The remaining teams to watch on the list do not play another team ranked in the top 21 in the 8A poll.

South Elgin
Naperville Central
Three of the top nine ranked teams are in the same conference.
