I’m not usually one to just irrationally hate commentators, but man does he annoy me.

I was somewhat bemused today hearing his voice because it has been so long since I remember paying attention to a game that had him on it, but any nostalgic or interested feeling I had was quickly erased.

Maybe I’m just jaded, but he’s one of those commentators where you can just tell he doesn’t like Kentucky. His comments about the NPOY race are just indicative of that to me.

Absolutely. He had some horrible takes today.

Two of his worst takes of the game was Oscar not having POY locked down and not being enough contact when the Florida player undercut the hell out of Grady over by the UK bench.

That’s a great call. I had forgotten about that one. He said he didn’t think there was enough there. Enough for what? A flagrant? Fair enough, but it was for sure a foul in my eyes.

Thought it was funny when Kellogg said about halfway or more into the second half that the refs had done a good job. Florida had three fouls called on them at that point when the refs started putting them on the line to help them get back in. Luckily they missed some of those or they would have been successful helping them get back.

We must have watched two different games. Kellogg raved about the Cats in general, and Oscar in particular through the entire game.
It’s more than just about tonight. I’ve felt that way for a long time, tonight was just the first time I’ve listened to him in awhile.

Like I said maybe my dislike of him is irrational, but I don’t think I’m alone in that thought it seems

Kellogg rarely does in-person color commentary anymore. I wonder if they drafted him to replace the AWFUL Pete Gillen that worked the UK/Arky game with Nessler last Sat?
That dude truly doesn't belong on air anywhere.

IMO, Kellogg is one of the last holdovers from the Billy Packer era. Not nearly as controversial as Packer was (except maybe on this board, lol) but, nothing about his work stands out either.

You act like it’s some irrational take to say that Johnny Davis has a case for NPOY, which is all Kellogg. Not that he should be, but that he has a “case” lol.

Man you’re not kidding. That guy is impossible to listen to. I figured we’d have rafferty. At one point he said speeded when talking about how fast we play. Guys terrible

The worst take he had all game was when he showed teams that you want to avoid in your bracket and it included Memphis. LOL
Memphis has a lottery pick on its team and will be a high seed. I agree with him on that. Think Danny and the Miracles.

He sounded totally unprepared today, but I always liked him. It might be that I know a little bit about him as a man. Not sure if he dislikes KY, but he puts family over money and is a very good person.

He’s a B1G homer, always has been and always will be. Johnny Davis is a hell of a player but you can’t look at both of their stats and come to the conclusion that he deserves it more than Oscar.

But that’s not what he said…

Look he’s not going to spell it out for you.

Kellogg is a Ohio State guy, he’s hates UK and always has.

He legit said Oscar doesn’t have player of the year sewn up. If were playing for UNC, Duke, Kansas, or of course OSU, he would have never said something like that.

The sports media in general does not like UK. We don’t have representation in the media at all and it’s going to hurt us eventually if we can’t start changing that climate.

Kellogg is a pure gaslighting propagandist for for his favorite teams and he’s very much anti-UK.

The point is a 5 seed playing a team with a lottery pick probably wishes they would have avoided that team, so he is correct in his assessment.

My favorite Kellogg moment was when Brandon Knight hit the game winner against Ohio State. You can almost hear him take his headset off after the shot. He went silent for a short period.

That was great because on the pre game, everyone picked against UK, I can’t remember if Chuck was on the broadcast by then but he was the only one Picking UK for a couple tournaments in a row in tough games.

Kellogg didn’t bother me as much as I expected him to. Maybe it’s because we led from start to finish and it’s obvious he likes Oscar.

Came here to say this, Kellogg is a notorious Big 10 homer just like Billy Packer always shilled for the ACC. I didn’t have sound for the game yesterday and was kinda glad. I think that 2011 UK win over Ohio State broke him.

I shut Mr Cornflakes down early in his career when he tried to introduce his own words to the game, like "spurtability", etc.
He was trying to out crap Dickie V -"diaper dandies" - and I don't care for either.

He's not wrong. Memphis had a poor start to their season (they were riddled with injuries), but they have won 9 of their last 10 games.

Its like Ol' Faithful, whenever UK plays a game someone will post about how the announcers hate UK and root against them. I only hope a lot of those people aren't that paranoid in real life thinking everyone is against and just out to get them.
