Something weird is currently happening. I'm guessing Flake may have changed his mind on which way he's going to vote. Not sure. Trying to keep tabs from work, while actually acting like I'm working. It's not easy. Anybody else know anything?

Yup, he flaked out.

Edit: He semi flaked. He is playing both sides of the fence.

I see it now. Delaying the vote for another week, while letting the FBI have a full week to investigate. I'm actually okay with that, but wished it would have been done back in early August. If they find Kavanaugh did something inappropriately, or if they find the accusations are false, then let the chips fall where they fall.

Flake just fell into the trap.

Bet we will see another drop of accusation, something, come down next week and the left will cry for another week of investigations.

Oh my. Grassley adjourning based on a 2 hour rule and this is left hanging out there.

Glad to see more people are recognizing this judicial committee is a circus or clown show, which it is.

I think most people, regardless of political affiliation, have realized Congress has been a circus for many, many years now. It's all political grandstanding. That's why regardless of who's President, it's virtually impossible to get anything done, outside of having to use executive power. It's a shame, because EO's should be rare, and not the new norm.

What he did was unwittingly smart for the Republicans. No FBI investigating battle cry will be negated in the campaign trial. Trump would be smart to allow it. D's have nothing to gain here but optics. Not like Trump is going to pick a moderate if Kavanaugh goes down.

Let me help you out. Nothing is hanging out there. Flake supported Kavanaugh on this committee vote BUT wants a week delay with FBI investigation on the Senate floor vote.

It hasn't come out of committee to go to the floor. Don't try to help me out when you have no clue.

Politics are a clown show....always have been and always will be. It's about power and control.

I just read that it did indeed get voted as moving to the floor, with the stipulation that they couldn't have a floor vote for a full week.

I agree, but that's making the assumption that the Dems that claim a week of investigation would be enough for them will actually stand by that.

Trump should have secretly instructed the FBI to investigate over a week ago, but Trump's Trump.

Oh.....I have a clue. The Senate Judiciary Committee endorsed Judge Brett Kavanaugh, sending his SC nomination to the full Senate. McConnell and Shumer will decide if and when it gets to the floor. Does that help you out?

I now read the same commentary but there wasn't a vote. I'm confused. But not surprising as this committee isn't performing as it should.

Then I did miss it. Thanks for correcting me but sure didn't see it.
Flake ended up voting to advance the nomination to the Senate and voiced his request for a one week delay on the Senate vote with FBI investigation. Problem is what happens next is out of his hands.....My guess is that if his request is not met he will be a NO vote for Senate confirmation.

Donald Trump signaled he was open to a delay.

One week to investigate does not give time to study the reports. Need a week to study - three days at least.

Now we are getting into next month. That was the objective all along. Stall to run out the time. Now if Dems should win new Senate, Repubs cannot get a new candidate in time to be considered. Next sitting Senate will select 9th judge. Mission accomplished.
