what about my post was an insult?

I merely listed facts.

chubba had the ball in his hands at the end of three tie games and ended each one of them with an interception and loss.

that's not an insult. it's just what happened.
Stop with merely listing the facts. You know exactly what you are doing, and it’s intentional. You are looking for reactions, and you do it well. Right, wrong, yes, no, none of that matters to you.

Can I get a reaction out of this board? That’s what makes you click. And secretly, you are smiling to yourself because you got someone who had you on ignore (no longer) to respond.

Well done, Kong. Well done.

What will we ***** about if we actually return to decent football?

There is plenty on the list:
1) Hoiberg as a coach.
2) NU half court offense in BB.
3) Lack of 3point defense in BB.
4) The portal.
5) Whether or not NU has NIL funds.
6) Raiola as an OL coach. (I will get an expert opinion tomorrow night and report back).

Things not in question or able to argue:
1) I_wa sucks!!!

We're taking about when he was running untouched and the ball just magically popped out for no reason. Thankfully he recovered it mid run, but yikes...
I believe Billy Kemp recovered it after 3-4 Iowa players let it slip away.

If only the entire schedule were directional schools.
Dude played 8 schools this year having been not included in the QB room by the previous staff and not seen a down since highschool.

2 of those 8 schools were directional schools.

Some got W's and others were just pedigrees that don't hunt.

I am not allowed to post things that happened on the field that are contrary to what happened in that poster’s head/flawed memory?

@dinglefritz can outright accuse me of committing an act of domestic terrorism, yet I am the crazy one?

At this point, Tim, you and the derangement brigade would argue that I’m trolling if I said water is wet.

Good grief

No worries, you’re good with your words, good enough to let it ruffle feathers of some posters, and yet also vague enough to plausibly deny. Not many can do what you do. I’m impressed. Truly, I am.

Purdy has done nothing to show he can help this team win. Nothing. Whether a starter or practice player. And he has had opportunities.
Nothing!
Its mind boggling people can bash sims and HH but not purdy.
HH has at least won games.
Thats not personal. Its just true.

In light of recent developments, never mind
Still could use Chubba in the room even if get McCord and Raiola.

Purdy has taken plenty of bashing and he also operated the offense the best against 2 of the better B1G defenses. Best passer we had this year.

I checked with my expert last night (former AA at NU in the 70s). He didn’t say much on Raiola as a coach. He said philosophies have changed over the years. Used to fire off the ball and be more aggressive . Now teams stand straight up and try to use leverage - so more technique oriented. He also said OL quality also relies on being a group. The injuries really hurt.

McCord, DK, Raiola, HH on the team. No need for Purdy and I would assume he moves on. Experienced backups are nice but let's be honest. Young backups need reps and we aren't bringing in DK and Raiola to sit.

Kong will/can defend himself. But I don’t think his argument was HH at all cost. It was HH vs. the other 2 QBs we had on the roster this year. I think he said a healthy HH was our best chance to win compared to Sims and Chubba. FWIW, i agreed with that sentiment. Everyone agrees we need an upgrade in the portal - even Kong.
Wrong. He stated HH will be our starting QB in 2024, not a transfer. He was supposedly willing to bet me “any amount” of money on it. Meaning he would’ve thrown his entire life away on that bet. Smart. The crusade has been both more than clear, and more than wrong.

I hope Chubba stays and competes against Raiola for the backup spot for next season. All 3 QBs would’ve done a lot better with any kind of QB coach last year, but that fell through.

You’d think someone who was so positive he was right would gladly accept easy money.

Alas

Haarberg was indeed the bridge to what seems to be better. 100% of Rhule’s wins as our coach came with him at QB (everybody HATES this fact and will do all they can to belittle it.) Best competitor at the position last year hands down.

Purdy ended all 3 of his games played with an INT and an L plus some hysterical bawling. He'll quit if these QBs indeed commit, to exactly nobody’s surprise.

Onward!

What’s lost in all this and what zero chubbies ever bring up is just how terribly the staff handled their guy from day 1

Buried on the depth chart immediately behind a guy everyone makes fun of for not even being a QB, hurt, family makes decision to do surgery, somehow banished to running the scout team before being thrust into a zero chance to succeed situation behind our OL/with our OC and now getting crapped on all over again with every coach visiting and publicizing their aggressive pursuit of multiple QBs to replace him the second the off-season starts

Frankly I’d be ripshit pissed if I was him. Talk about a raw deal

Absolutely need Chubba to stay now.

How do you know? Do you know Chubba personally? Do you deny that Chubba throws a nicer football, appears to be able to drive the team under duress? Do you think HH is incapable of having a leadership role in any other position than QB?

Let’s put it this way, if I was HH and you were my father, I would tell you to shut the F up.
That TD pass by Purdy that put us back into the game was one that HH has shown no ability to throw. At all. It was a pinpoint throw to hit a receiver at full stride.
And what indication is there that Purdy isn't a team player? He seems to care a lot and felt devastated to lose the game. We've had a few seasons where honestly the players looked like they didn't give a damn. It is nice to see that this team was giving their all and cared about the outcome.

HH only needed to not turn the ball over to win the first two games against La Tech and No Illinois. Actually the La Tech game was in a lot of doubt for 3 quarters because our offense wasn't exactly firing on all cylinders. Against Illinois HH played ok at first and then the offense was just bad. Horrible actually. Because of the QB position. The defense won that game, the Purdue game, and the NW game.
I don't discredit HH for being a steadier QB than the atrocious Sims, but his QB play seemed to deteriorate over the course of the season. He was rightfully benched in favor of Purdy for the last two games.

HH is valuable as a 3rd or 4th option at QB, multiple QB injury insurance. Otherwise, he is mainly as a gimmick player - wildcat, WR/TE reverse, etc..... a couple plays per game then back to the clipboard.
As long as he doesn't fumble.
