True. But after years of listening to the guy it was possible to hear the hidden dog whistles in the seemingly benign understatements so a guy could figure out what was going on. I suspect when asked about the Qb situation 2 weeks before the 1995 opener he may have said something like "They are neck and neck. Tommie may be a little better running the ball and Brooke may have an edge in the passing game." Then later in the interview, "Oklahome State has a great secondary so running the ball will be important." BOOM, there it was.
