I don’t want or expect anything.

Christmas presents are for the kids.

I enjoy the giving and the wrapping more than the getting. Just glad to have kids and grandkids home for the holidays for a few days

I don’t know that I have gotten a present in years now, but it’s a fun time and now my kids are older and this is the first year without Santa Claus so I am going to enjoy the heck out of it.
No more hiding the presents, sneaking out in the middle of the night to put the presents under the tree, etc

Yep, we have our little guys coming in from Texas next week thru New Year's.

We only see them 2x's a year so they bring great energy to this house.

I wind up working my fanny off, but loving every minute of it!

Boo... my kids are old enough to not believe in Santa, but I still fill them a stocking and hold back a couple of really nice gifts from "santa".

We do stockings too. Wish I had a fireplace 😆
Two of my grandsons who will visit are 8 and 5.

Every year I have my buddy call and talk to them as Santa.

I change his contact info to read Santa. So when my cell rings, I show them the phone and it says Santa.

Boy does that fire 'em up getting a personal call!

Makes them feel special, which of course, they are.

When I was growing up, my Mom always said Christman, birthdays, etc were just another day. I never had a Christmas tree in the house until I was 23 and married. So yes, all those magical things about Christmas were going to be a big part of my children and grandchildren's life when I got older.

My little guys will help me make cupcakes and muffins for my daughter's daycare. They LOVE to help me when I pressure can. The littlest one loves to help push the vacuum and seal buttons on my machine. And the older one writes the labels.

We make Triple B chili, (our own special chili recipe with our initials), I let them help me knead the dough when we make bread. They love to use the roller if we make homemade corn tortillas for tortilla chips, and of course, they love to put the ingredients in the blender for salsa.

They asked me last week what we were gonna seal this trip. LOL So, I told my wife when she goes to the store to buy 25 #s of rice and pinto beans so we can seal them in Mylar bags.

So many kids nowadays just think salsa appears in a jar, and I like to show them how it gets made to get into those jars.

My great-granddaugher is only 16 months old, so she's mostly a "sampler."
She loves when I put on a wig and a smock and she does my make-up.

It's allllll good!

Do you still try to figure out what you are getting ahead of time? Or have you actually grown up and are now comfortable just waiting?
I’ve figured out what I really want…a Gibson Custom Shop 1959 Les Paul (preferably Cherry Burst and lots a flame in the Maple top).

I’ve been waiting and have been comfortable with that. However with high inflation, the price keeps going up even higher each year. Please Santa don’t be late!

The wife and I still exchange a gift. I don’t try to figure out what she got me, though we do have a running list of ideas for each other. Most of Christmas is spent watching the kids unwrap presents.

We do the culture for Christmas route and usually try to go somewhere international. The kids still get spoiled but takes out just having to buy random **** for people and go experience somewhere fun.

The last time I really worked to figure out what Santa was bringing and I was super excited, probably the best gift I ever got, at the time. After 3-4 months* I realized it was not any better than my old reliable stuff and now, I am just hoping for something functional rather than worrying about if it is the perfect thing for me. Being around friends and family makes the experience, not the flash or presentation.
