I was seriously concerned that Christian, a pretty highly rated recruit, would not be at Nebraska past 2017.

Now with coaches Frost and Austin, it seems he does indeed have a future with the Huskers although he has sophs ahead of him on the depth chart.

If Gaylord shows he can play, he doesn't have to worry about the guys in front of him. Next year we lose the 3 seniors in the interior. Farniok could slide back inside if Gaylord proves himself. Of course, at this point, Gaylord still has to prove he can play well enough to earn time as a back-up.

I do remember being very impressed with Gaylord as a recruit. I thought he could be a really good player. It's been a disappointing career in many respects, but he's stuck it out and now he's on the depth chart as an upperclassman. Perhaps he just needed time to grow into his body. For tall guys, it can take a little longer.
