Some quotes he gave on the movement and recent upheaval to the status quo...

"I think everybody should be doing more," he said. "It's time for me to listen. And it's time for other folks to listen."

“Do I think Black lives matter? Absolutely... I don't know how you could think they don't."

“I think we all have a lot of work to do, you know, as individuals as a society. And if you don’t think that, I think you’re not looking.”

How spineless of him. He clearly deserves to be canceled for such extreme comments. I bet he is a closet Marxist too!***

The problem is that the people who need to hear the message are the ones doing the cancelling.

I'm not big on a lot of the BLM movement. Not because of what it stands for but the posturing that goes with it. But those comments, I dont have any problem with. The sad part is that people think they have to come out and say what should be understood as common human decency. There was a pretty good thread that ended up being 4-5 pages long 2-3 weeks after the GF killing about conversation. I'm not pointing to anyone individually or their opinions with my following comments. But if we could get the ones on the far right to quit letting everyone know how much they dislike everything about the movement to hush and then get all the ones on the far left to quit making excuses for all those looting and rioting to hush we could probably make actual changes if both would shut up and listen long enough to discuss actual issues and commonality.

If we would just talk we could hash alot of this out. Treating others as we would want to be treated is good no matter the sex, creed, race, or religion. Treating other's property as we would want our property treated is good. Listening and complying with LEO's is good. Calling out and culling LEOs that abuse their power is good. The divide in America is more of an economical one than a racial one. Any LEO toting an instrument of deadly force should have a working camera, NO EXCEPTIONS. But if we could all agree to those and other common agreements then we would be a lot less polarized and we'd watch a lot less cable news. But they cant let that happen so they stir the pot.

Here’s my biggest issue on everything. Just about everyone spews the “we all need to be doing more”, “we need to listen more”, etc etc and nobody gives any specifics on what they want changed.

We are months into this and I still have no idea exactly what people would change.

“Be better” is something every person should be trying to do all the time. It’s not a novel new concept and it’s something our society has come an long way on in the last 40’years.

I just don’t know what the end game is so if anybody has some insight I’d be more than welcome to hear it.
