He has a problem not related to basketball. Let this play and the info will be released hopefully soon.

The decision to release the info is not SHU's choice, it's the player's and that why you are not 'allowed to know'.

Please show some compassion to the player..

No one is not showing compassion. If I recall correctly, this is more info than was provided on the trove.

This is exactrly what I have been posting on the Trove. All I asked there is for us to show compassion until the info comes out.

I strongly admire what the player is doing and when it leaks I think most of you would as well.

Maybe I missed some posts about Nwuli on the trove. But I don't recall reading that this situation is admirable or that it is up for the player to announce.

I do remember the you will understand when it comes out but for now you can't know what I know but if you did you would understand

And also that it wasn't SHU related

He seemed pretty undersized anyway.
He is a legit 6’7” and has long arms and can get off the floor. His ceiling is higher than what the numbers tell you on offense, but he particularly has potential on defense once he learns to key on the right things. Some have said he is a bit quirky, but no one has said he is not a good kid. You should be rooting for him to resolve his issues and get to school.

He has a VERY sick close relative that he will be taking care of 24/7. That leaves no time for BB. He's giving up a lot of money and his passion to be a caretaker to someone he loves.

That's about as admirable as it gets.

Now you know why the school would not release anything. They left in up to the player.

To me that's where the school always fails. Just report that Chris Nwuli will not be attending SH this year due to personal reasons. They can respect the player's privacy but they have a responsibility to the fans of Seton Hall to accurately and timely report roster updates, injuries and other significant news.

I don't believe the school has even officially announced or acknowledged that Sha has signed a new 6-year deal. Rothstein has been visiting schools for weeks and watching practices for weeks but Sha still shutting media out. Zagoria says he'll have a zoom call with media on August 4th. So we have 2 weeks to look forward to that. This stuff isn't difficult. Stop treating the fans and the local/friendly media like strangers.

The sha zoom is going to be a video news release of the roster and his deal

Perhaps, but high school kids still have parents.
Parents and advisors shuffle kids looking for the place where their kid can fulfill his destiny and be the next Mike jordan.

When my son was playing, 8th graders (good players)were transferring to a new school to repeat 8th grade, hoping it would help their hoops. My sons last game was against a team that started 5 9th graders, all good students repeating for hoops purposes, and they all played at highly rated Catholic HSs.
And one tried to transfer to mt sons school but they would not accept him. This is white suburbia btw.

It’s ridiculous. 4 years now. At one point wouldn’t even let Carino interview players for features. Players are media savvy now bc of social media. I can’t help but think Sha’s style of dungeon control may also play into guys leaving annually.

We’ve posted about this for so long. This is how you ingratiate the constantly shuffling rosters to fan base and drive interest.

Look at the new coach at PC. Total opposite.

I also thought Nwuli had lots of upside especially with the way Sha coaches and uses the 4-spot. Oh well.

Whatever is plaguing him, I’m a bit surprised playing and earning the NIL payout wouldn’t help, but I wish him the best.

Apparently the reported excuse is he is passing on the season and the NIL in order to "be a caretaker to a sick person he loves."

Time will tell. If he signs with another team somehow or shows up somewhere else that will make it clear if that was ever really the case.

If the school did say he was missing the year due to personal reasons do we honestly think the speculation would be any different. Sometimes we just have to respect privacy. I know it’s hard but it’s really the right thing to do. Hopefully he’s still enrolled as a student so he can take advantage of that great & underrated opportunity in this day and age. I wish Chris & his family the best & hope he comes back next year. He sure has his priorities in order.

Holloway does not want to release any info until the roster is complete. With Nwuli now gone we are one player short. We are looking for a PF overseas. When that happens Jerry Carino will be interviewing the GM.

Also, with the media zooming with Holloway in about a week it's possible we'll finally get the info we all want even if we don't sign a 14th player..

I don’t understand this, at all. So most every other coach around the country has it wrong when it comes to handling this stuff, and Sha has it right?

And is it just Sha?
If it is basketball-related, I'm assuming it's his decision and his decision only (in essence). From everything Dan has posted in the past, I don't think Sha reports to anyone in reality when it comes to the basketball stuff. And he seems to disdain the media -- which is fine -- but you can disdain the media and still understand how you can use the media to successfully advance the hoops piece.

And before someone brings up a Bill Belichick example of someone notoriously against the media who was extremely combative at times with the media (1) that wasn't until he won big and became a legend, (2) a NFL team is a very different thing than Seton Hall basketball and (3) you need to win at the absolute highest level, consistently, for years, to be able to act like that and given a pass.

I think it is also cultural. Willard ran a similar playbook and didn’t seem to be held accountable. I wouldn’t be surprised if this culture is either supported or influenced by the BOR. Lawyers love to lawyer….

While I am for open transparency, the shupirates page has a release on meet the team but doesn't list who is on the team.
There is no 26-27 roster to choose from and the roster page goes to 25-26 with Adam Clark listed first.
