I'm telling you. He's going to end up changing his mind at the last minute and "coming home" because "his heart was always at MSU" and all that BS. And he's going to be worshipped for it 10 times over by MSU fans. If you think about it, he's playing this exactly right. If he does like I think he's going to do, he'll be the savior of MSU football in many fans' eyes before he ever sets foot on the campus, and therefore he'll be the golden boy that can do no wrong for his whole career.

and I agree with you that could very well happen. But I think the real question is will Croom let him back on? We do have a commitment from Russell and Hollingsworth- not that we couldn't use another QB. I would be surprised if Croom has alloted more than two scholarships for QB's. The man is stubborn.

Although, it does appear as if he is going after another QB at least- the "mystery QB" from Indiana, who I don't think will come.

Personally, I think if Garrett did come, he would only start one year. I could see him sitting behind Carroll and Russell until he is a senior.</p>

Seriously though, I don't think this makes much difference for Garrett. He would have been a senior for Garrett's true freshman season. I still think that, barring injury, Garrett will never start at LSU.

I don't have a clue about Garrett's abilities, but I just get the sense that he's going to pull one of those switches where he decides MSU was always the place for him. He was raised an MSU fan, and unless he's one of those business-oriented type personalities, he'll come back to MSU.

Carroll will be a junior when Garrett is a freshman and then he could redshirt his freshman year.

but I never was sure he was that great (the few Tupelo highlights I saw last year). I thought he had a lot of yet to be realized potential. Regardless, I'd take him back (but certainly wouldn't 'worship' him).

This actually hurts Garrett's chances of playing. Now the 4 star redshirt freshman already on the roster will have a season of experience under his belt when Garrett arrives.</p>

At least Carroll has started some SEC gmaes and won them. I hear the environment at the Harvard/Yale game can be pretty intense, though- lots of hazing.</p>

At this point, I really don't care too much. We've got the QB from Meridian committed and the general consensus (on this board at least) has always been that he was the better prospect.
