Nice. Great pickup. A guy who could really ball, but probably has that coaches mentality too since he wasn't a superduper star.

One of the most underrated Duke players of the past 25 years

Stout defender, quality mid range jumper, strong leadership qualities and I never remember him rattled or overcome by the moment

Carrawell joined a program coming off seasons of: 13-18 and 18-13 (1st Round lose to Eastern Michigan), included in his recruiting class were Nate James and Mike Chappell (would transfer to Michigan State).

Alongside a strong core of
(JR) G: Steve Wojciechowski
(SR) G: Jeff Capel
(SO) G: Trajan Langdon
(JR) F: Ricky Price
(JR) F: Roshown McLeod *transfer
(SR) C: Greg Newton

Duke basketball stormed back to relevance winning the ACC regular season Crown (over a 'SR' Tim Duncan)

By Carrawell's sophomore season Duke was back in the Elite 8 and the following year was the magical 1999 season. Although Chris was unable to break thru with a NCAA Title, he did manage 6x ACC Trophies, 3x #1 Seed and above all helping put Duke basketball back at the top echelon.

Welcome back Carrawell!

Many said if Capel left, Duke would need another solid recruiter to go along with Nate James. Chris is an excellent re - addition to the staff.
