Matt had him on the other day and said that. It kind of caught me off guard because I hadn’t realized he’d left the air. I switched to mostly podcasts, instead of local radio and just didn’t know. Even though he didn’t hide his Ole Miss homerism, i kind of liked his show tbh.

Chris had the best show on 105.9. I always joked he seemed less interested in UM sports than most MSU fans. Congrats to him. I don't think his heart was in selling ads for his radio show, which is likely the most important skill of a radio host.

Homer? You must not have listened much, heck he rarely talked sports of any kind. If you want to hear a homer listen to Matt Wyatt or the UM guy on supertalk.

Sports radio is on the road to becoming more and more about gambling and Chris probably wasn't comfortable with that. Matt is not either, but he has a strong following.

I never listened to his show, but on twitter he has been an insufferable OM homer and occasionally unnecessarily anti-State.

I don't do twitter, but his show was very light on sports, mostly him and his producer talking about whatever national day it is (Pancake day, etc.) and reading humorous texts from callers. If was a very lighthearted and fun show, he is very strong in his faith so he kept it maybe too clean.

This couldn’t be more wrong. Brooks was never anti-State. He’s just an all around nice guy which Egg Bowl radio didn’t suit his personality. Wish him nothing but the best.

Brooks does seem like a good guy but his show was nothing, like he woke everyday with nothing to discuss. Basically just read his Twitter account on live radio. I always wondered why people would listen to the show……as I was listening. .
