Unfortunately also got smoked in space a couple times. Not what you wanna see out of your starting SAM against UNLV.
Kid plays with a ton of heart and hustle though.
Somehow I knew you would degrade the player. You picked up where I left off at around 15 years ago. Keep pointing out how awful our players are when you should be celebrating a nice win. Geez
He is fun to watch. Very unheralded, who actually recruited him? As it turns out, he belongs and plenty of it. Great game!
Seems like we had a few of those today, Paddy and Blake had some bad reads and misses as well. Hopefully all three will be sharp against Sparty.
The entire team’s tackling was atrocious in the first half. Fitz must have had some heated words with his much vaunted defense at halftime as they pitched a shutout in the second half.
Bergin’s been a quietly effective player and is easy to root for. It’d be funny if he ends up getting more All-Conference accolades than our other higher-touted linebackers.
Bergin has a good nose for the ball. Not the fastest but he makes up for it with his smarts and technique.
The defense has been pretty soft the first two games. Better buck up for Sparty.

Yeah - empty tackles don’t mean much when you’re consistently loosing battles in space and getting juked. No - this isn’t to bring down a player, but rather to call reality how it is. As Olin’s Kreutz says, “the tape doesn’t lie”
I’ll admit that I’m clearly frustrated both of the outside backers because yesterday was a dismal display. In saying that I’ll say that the DB’s and DLine clearly stepped it up in the 2nd half of the game - that should give the team a lift - in particular Mr Brown who was back to what most expect out of a top tier talent. I’m hoping players are hitting their stride, and in particular the offense begins to gel with a relatively new offensive line unit - I’m excited about MSU, but less so about players like Bergin - who you specifically are praising for what I saw as a bad performance.

Call me whatever you want. I'm not going to let you talk crap about the players like the expert you have been proven not to be. If you want to be Mr Negative about 1 or 2 plays while others praise a player over all of the other plays he made, then I guess nobody can stop you and your miserable negative attitude. But I'll keep calling you out for dumb comments.
Geez, he made a legitimate criticism which another poster already posted to you. If it was a player attack, the mods would have deleted it. Get over it.
GCG complemented Bergin's character and drive, while still acknowledging his play yesterday was not ideal.
