I would say Texas is looking at a breach of contract lawsuit that will soon be filed by Beard's lawyers. This isn't a cut and dried case. The woman in question has had numerous opportunities to throw Beard to the wolves and keeps coming to his defense. Now that could be because she wants to keep riding the gravy train or it could be because they have a toxic love-hate relationship. Either way, if she remains firm in her defense of Beard it's going to be tough for Texas to prove they were in the right firing him for cause. In the end I suspect a suit is filed, it drags through the court for a couple of years and both sides settle for $10-$15 million.
