I mean he was only in there as a sub today. We pulled Raymond for a pinch runner. Feel like we’ll continue to mostly start Raymond against RHP and Chone against LHP.
I never get an answer when I ask this, but what has happened to Milewski? You know, our season opening starting catcher??
Barring some sort of attitude problem (which I have absolutely no evidence of), I'd like to see Milewski get another shot this weekend. Love James' bat, but the defensive burps are obviously a concern.
I'm also of the opinion if he blocks up that ball last night, there's a good chance Billingsley doesn't make the same pitch that did us in.

I've wondered if there's an injury, but I can't remember any of our beat writers asking Oak if he's injured. Just seems a bit strange that we haven't seen him since that weekend.
Yep we pinch ran Gatlin for him, who would have easily scored had Woodson's double not hopped over the fence. It was the right move and should have won the game for us. But yes, James needs to improve on passed balls. He does everything else pretty well though.
I assume he has to be hurt. Raymond got hurt late in Saturday's game when we had a big lead. They brought Chone back in who had caught the day before to finish out the last couple of innings instead of Milewski. To me that says he has to be unavailable to catch. Surely they're not refusing to utilize him defensively because he had 2 bad offensive games in February.
Something more than 0-7 in two games is going on. The guy hit and hit for power at SH. Maybe he just doesn't handle pitchers well. No idea.
But he had obviously earned an opening day start, so they saw something they liked. It just makes no sense that he hasn't touched the field in two weeks with no word on what's going on.
He caught the Florida State scrimmage back in October and the first 2 games of this season and was fine. Even threw out a runner opening weekend. Oak spoke well of him going into the season. He has to be dealing with injury. I wish one of the beat writers would ask about him.
FYI, Coach Oak confirmed last night in his postgame interview that Milewski is dealing with a back injury.
