Hope for UCLA, yes. Hope for Nebraska? Nope.
You could see the growth in the UCLA team over the last 4 years. Started out with less than 50 scholarship players and 4 years later beat LSU.
I woulda been more on board with more time if they’d at least tried to get a portal trxfer or juco qb.

won his first(!) non-conference game there just this year
they actually run the ball, though, so many have them picked to compete for a conference title this year while those same people have us vying for dead last in the b1g west
My post wasn’t a endorsement of Frost just a fact. It’s funny watching people prop up these coaches who haven’t done anything at their current jobs (Fleck, Tucker, Burt, etc). Those same people would eat them alive if those guys actually coached here.
As for Chip, he does have a roster full of Sr’s that could be competitive this year, but he hasn’t been any good since leaving Oregon, yet.
True. Nick Foles turned into Joe Montana for like a half a season. that was pretty wild.
Chip is a proven coach at the college level. Besides one miracle year, Frost isn't. Nothing about UCLA indicates things will turn around here. Just look at their Oline which abused LSU. We're light-years from that with our OL.

Inherited a program that won 8+ games in three of the four seasons before he got there and has failed to do so on three of his four seasons in charge. It’s amazing that he has been able to convince so many people he is some sort of miracle worker. A tireless self promoter and sleezy used car salesman.
Hey, I agree 100% with the last sentence, but he's in a different league than the other guys you mentioned.
Yeah, and 8 was about it. Before Fleck, 9 seemed amazing. He got us 11 in 2019 and we had our best season in 100 years. Bringing in recruits like crazy compared to what our previous staff's would bring in. We are way better with QBs and WRs.
Heck, pummeling Nebraska two years in a row isn't an accomplishment? Nice to know you think so lowly of your program.

No way would I want to be in Nebraska's position right now. Awful coach, crap recruiting class, and nothing positive coming on the horizon. We've got a top-notch Oline, good B1G QB, 2 good WRs, and recruits want to come to our school. Next.

Look at your QB's stats last year and this year, they are worst than AM's.

You've been outrecruited every year by Nebraska and probably would be this year if we weren't taking a smaller class, but yeahhh.. You guys are pulling in so many top recruits. Lol.

And how many of your guys are living up to that wonderful star ranking? You know you'd trade 4* Amart for our QB any day. Ours can actually hit an open receiver - 21 of 22 passing one game if I recall correctly. He had a shoulder injury last year, but look at his throws against Ohio State and compare that accuracy to what you guys have playing QB and you think you're better?
Mo was only a 3* recruit at RB - how many guys have you brought in higher ranked than that? Probably a few, and none as good. You brought in a WR transfer from powerhouse Montana or whatever, we brought in a WR from A&M who was .96 rated out of high school - clearly better than Toure.
Toss insults all you want, we'll see who pushes who around on Oct 16th.
And then in the offseason you guys will believe all the hype you read in your paper about turning the corner, this is an experienced team, blah blah blah only to crap your pants again.
On signing day, your recruiting has been consistently better. That's it. Once the players take the field, we have the better ones, as the last two games against you guys show. Sure felt nice to stroll into Lincoln, missing 30 guys, and still beat your ***. I'm sure you'd never think that would happen. Back in history when you were a blue blood school, you'd be rolling on the floor laughing thinking MN would do that to you guys.
Now if you want to give me crap that your recruits would be playing better if it wasn't for Frost and company screwing up their development, I could go along with that line of thinking. Is that your thought?
How many of your guys are living up to the hype? Outside of one really good year, what have you done? Nothing... To say the A&M kid is better than Toure is pretty laughable. I've watched both teams play and they are pretty similar. I've got nothing against Minny and in fact I think they are way better coached. If AM is at Minny, maybe you guys would have developed him a lot better, but I know he would be better than your current guy. I do find it comical you over hear constantly puffing your chest about how great you are, yet you have done nothing of significance. It isn't any ****** secret Nebraska is down and has been for quite some time. Lot's of season to play out and with Mo out, good luck. He was your only good back and it showed when the other two were inserted into the game.
Minnesota is decent, but they are probably somewhere in the 6-10 range of the Big 10 depending on the weekend, so get the **** out of here with all of your useless ****. We all know Minnesota is middle of the road and Nebraska is towards the bottom and yet still Nebraska still has more clout than Minny and it pisses you off.

Even under Bo, when NU was still 1/2 in the division each year, Husker fans were not out on other teams sites bragging about being pretty lame.
No I do not like PJ Fleck and am not impressed by what he has done at Minnesota at all. Minnesota was a solid program before him and he has not made you any better. There are a ton of coaches I like that run great programs, that sleezeball is not one of them. But It's good that you happy and are impressed, that's what matters, not what we think.
What are we doing with these recruits tho?? Facts are facts Minny has been kicking our *** just like everyone in the division.

I guess maybe I'm a lil more realist since I don't live in Nebraska and mostly encounter fans of other teams. Having a myopic view of the last u years of Nebraska football outside of the state can be rather humbling if you have your head in the sand..

Close enough to a decent reply ; - ) I'd say the RG and RT that we pulled from IMG Academy are living up to the hype for sure. And the fact Fleck went into Florida and got two 4* players is something our previous coaches wouldn't have been able to do, except maybe Lou Holtz. So that's why we are pumped. Last year, our WORST rated player in the class, a DT no less, would have been our BEST rated player under Jerry Kill or Glen Mason. Anyways, back to the original question...Mo obviously exceeded the hype, QB has probably exceeded a little since he's a legit B1G QB and was recruited to the MAC. On defense it's harder to say because the ones we were pumped to get are still young.
I'll give you that we haven't done much outside of 2019. But with better recruiting than what previous coaches did, we think the ship is pointed in the right direction.
Curious as to why you think AM would be better here. I know you said coaching, but don't we see a lot of athletic, dual threat high school QBs not pan out? Just asking, but is it possible he was highly rated in high school, but it was simply him out-athleting the competition?
I don't really think I'm puffing my chest about how great we are, just defending Fleck. He's doing things for our program that other coaches haven't been able to do. Not sure why Nebraska hates him so much????

Interesting you called Minnesota solid before Fleck. I wouldn't have said that. We were a dumpster fire from 2007-2010 and then Jerry Kill came along and at least got us to win the games we should (non-conf cupcakes and bottom of B1G) but he retired and the guy who took over lasted one season and left the cupboard bare. We had crap for a team when Fleck arrived - yeah, we won 9 games the year before but all those guys left.
I just don't get the sleezeball stuff. Sure, he's running full octane 24/7, but what's sleazy? Paying recruits like Tennessee did, or ignoring the stuff in Waco is sleazy - we don't have any of that here. Disciplined kids who go to class, get good grades, and don't make unforced errors on the field. Honestly, what's sleezy?
And I'm not even here to talk trash or rub things in your face.... I just wanted to know, why the hate for Fleck lol.

Sorry the facts bother you. Not sure how Nebraska’s futility makes Fleck a better coach or less of a dirty bag. But then again, probably best not to try to get inside the head of someone living on another teams message board to feel better about their self.
