Damn!! Maybe could have had him!! Since Ash takes his time coming here can we take Chip?

You need to ask yourself 2 questions to determine if we could get Chip (if we didn't already have a HC).

1) Do we have the money to outbid every college and NFL team?
2) Would he want to come here in the first place?

The answer to both questions is, No.

Yea. Rutgers was at the top of his list [eyeroll]
The posts on here are at an all time low
Ehh. Your sarcasm meter is broken. I was just having some fun with the folks who think Kelly would even give Rutgers a sniff. I'm on board with Ash and company.

Yes and no. Weren't Mullin and Chip the two rumored that we would spare no expense. Dare to dream! Rumors were out there. RU fans eat anyone who dare to disagree. Even when they turn out to be correct.

You forgot question 3. How much of the contract that Ash signed would Rutgers have to pay out before he even coached his first game?

Are people really this stupid that they would even think this is feasible? Dear Lord, we have some morons on this board. It's getting to the point where I'm considering not coming here anymore.

Complete morons.
I just want to raid the eagles coaching staff. Maybe even take on their RB or WR coach to get some insight as to what Chips doing.

It's not tongue in cheek. It's pure stupidity.

And he has started. Just because you don't see his daily schedule doesn't mean you know what he isn't doing. Uggh.

tOSU's offense slipped a notch this year with Herman gone to Houston; Urban will probably hire him as a co-Offensive Coordinator

Well, Ash hasn't hired a DC yet. We could hire Kelly for $7 million & hire Ash as DC for $2 million. You can save money by bringing in Flood to coach the OL for the $1.6 million we owe him.

Heard Ash told Philly if they fire Chip now he'll hop on a plane leaving OSU before bowl game and take their HC position till the Eagles last game this season ( playoffs included) and then show up for his Rutgers gig :p

Chip ain't going from NFL HC to college OC. Even at OSU. But how about this...if he decides to take the year off and wait to make boatloads of cash next year, could we hire him as an offensive consultant (in the same way that Fridge was supposed to be this year, but never did)? Throw him a few hundred K to act as offensive mentor to our peppy, but wet-behind-the-ears OC? He already lives close to Piscataway, and he'd only need to show up 2-3 days a week? C'mon, that could work right???

Not a bad idea... Chip gets to keep his toe in the CFB water that way too.

Kelly said tonight he wants to remain in the NFL. I think that means he will recharge for a year then try to get another NFL job. I think that after his performance in Philly, he'll find it hard to get another NFL head coaching position. It's not just that he failed; it's that he failed while alienating his players and while having full control of personnel. And his penchant to run only 15 plays a game didn't help. He thought he could win by having the offense line up quickly, but NFL defenders are savvy enough to counter that.
