Frost will ultimately HAVE to fire Chinander to save his job. He’s going to start feeling the pressure to make a change when the excuses run out.

Chinander is not a good enough defensive coordinator to win close games or games where Frost’s offense isn’t killing it. He will never be a good enough DC to bring this team to an elite level. He’s done nothing to show he’s not over his head. He’s baggage that came with getting Frost.
Meh. EVERY defensive guy I've either talked to or listened to has said that changing to a 3-4 is at least a 3 year process. Wisconsin struggled when they changed to it. Alabama struggled when they went to a 3-4. Chinander had 2 years at UCF. It is true that Diaco started the switch before Chin got to Lincoln, but NOBODY could figure out what that crazy dude was trying to say. Diaco couldn't teach at all and Riley made him try to do it with a bunch of assistants who had NEVER coached the 3-4. We have to build this thing from the ground up with kids who play in the system from day one when they get to Lincoln. If we're still confused in year 4 well then Frost has to make a decision or it will be made for him.

defense is playing well per the scheme being taught.. that's not the problem.

lack of offensive production is what the problem is.

Campbell was never an option. Frost was the ONLY logical option and is still the best option. We hired a young coach with a young staff who are going to make mistakes. We need to keep it as positive as we can given the performance thus far and not undercut them. This program was taken down to this level over the past 20 years. It isn't going to be fixed in 18 months.
Agree he can't fix it overnight. However, we should be seeing at least some sort of progress. I think every aspect of this team has regressed from last year.

3-4 just doesn't have the recruits around our region pool to get the studs that defense require. 4-3 doesn't require any particular position to be studs, just overall discipline and maybe some athleticism.

Get functional brain cells. I'm talking about Frost. Riley needed to be put out to the paster after his failed NFL years.

What is a paster? This is how dense you are. You reference Frost beating Maryland while at UCF and Auburn as evidence that his vaunted offense will easily work in the Big Ten.

I then stated well....Riley won multiple big games at Oregon St. How did that help him at Nebraska? And not surprisingly it went right over your head.

The 3-4 requires unique athletes at OLB to be effective. The 4-3 requires unique athletes at DE especially WDE to be effective. Pick your poison. From what I've read supposedly it's mentally easier to play linebacker in a 3-4. You have to have athletic guys no matter which system you run. In a 4-3, your backers still have to be able to run and cover.
