A little time-warp for you...the day of the NU-UW game, I was invited to play in a golf tournament out of town (I live in KC, so out of town was Emporia, KS in this case). There was no DVR, only VCRs then. So I recorded the game to watch when I got home. I had to avoid hearing the score throughout the day - which was significantly easier to do in 1997 than it is today. I doubt I even had a cell phone then. Even if I did, there would not have been any group texts from my friends during the game, and certainly no ESPN or Huskers.com alerts on my phone.

This is what I noticed: people wonder why guys like Herbie think Nebraska fans are obnoxious and annoying. We had won 50 out of the last 52 games, and our student section boos Frost during a win over Akron. Frost's comments in the video are deserved. Clearly, he got over it, but fans shouldn't put a player in the position that he questions how fondly he'll look back on his experience at the university.

Edit: can't do math gud.

And that is why no one in the history of college football can hold a candle to Nebraska... we got 52 victories in 50 games! No one else can claim that!!!!!

check out the 98 game. it's kind of sad in some ways.

speaking of sad, i went to the MN/MW game last week....woof.
Oh man. That 1998 Washington game was sort of sad. Deangelo Evans ran wild like a man possessed. Best game of his career... he got injured that year and was never the same. Left the team in 1999 after a few games. If that version of Deangelo would have stayed healthy, we would have been a MUCH different team from 1998-2000.

I remember how different the team was when he was not in. He definitely was missed after his injury and subsequent departure.

That's why it was sad. Bobby looked quite explosive as well.

He shouldn't have mouthed off in the locker room, and he wouldn't have got hurt.

I guess good ole herbie didn’t always hate Nebraska

Despite what a lot of Nebraska fans think, Herbstreit isn't a Husker hater. He did get his undies in a twist on the best team ever call in show, but he has picked Nebraska a fair amount over the years on Gameday.

Aha...my cousin was texting me from that game... fire Petito!!

They are badly coached. Returned a punt with 10 guys, had 13 in the huddle another time, had 9 in formation to return the 2h kickoff and then ran out one right before they kicked and another as they were kicking. Fumbled probably around 8 times or so. As ugly as it gets.
