why hasn't he been hired by anyone yet. He's been at Florida a long time. I've heard he is not very good with the public.

I know why Mark May and Desmond H. think he hasn't been hired.

Hard to get excited about that one. I see him as a good coach but not a great up and comer.

We could do worse, but am also hoping we can do better.

As much as I want an offensive genius, you generally have to have a solid defensive team to compete in the SEC. He would certainly stress defense.

I think I would rather have someone with HC experience, though.

What's been disappointing to me is that Missisippi State never seems to have any coach on the roster who has the slightest clue on how to coach a quarterback. Even under Sherrill, we never really had a coach who I felt knew how coach a quarterback to run a modern style offense. Croom and McCorvey obviously had little to no experience with quarterbacks. So i just want a head coach who knows how to do that. If we hire a coordinator from Florida, I say Dan Mullen's the guy it should be.

his defense, which is a JLD variant, requires top level talent to be succesful. We got lucky to have Bean and Smoot one year, they aren't on the roster as we speak.

Florida's defense has never impressed me. They're better this year, but even still, Strong doesn't seem like head coach material.

At Florida where they get ridiculous athletes his defenses have been good, but shouldn't it be good?

Does he have creative schemes, or just fantastic athletes.

Im just not sure I have seen anything from him that would lead me to believe that he can do more with less. I think we all agree that both Ole Miss and MSU need a coach that can do more with less.

That is why I think coaches like Fulmer and Bowden would be horrible choices for MSU. I think they should offer Kelly 3 million a year and go up to 3.5 if needed. If Kelly is looking for a bigger gig, which I think he would be since he is a hot candidate.

Make no mistake, Ole Miss got pretty lucky last year, if Nutt wasn't available we wouldn't have landed Neuheisel since he was waiting on the UCLA job, and Im not entirely sure who we would have landed.

Strong's wife is white. I have no problem with that but in Starkville, I doubt that will work out.

WINS are what is important.

I don't know that he is such a good candidate though.

wouldn't be a problem for him or her. She'd fit in if she wants to. Now, out in Mississippi recruiting would be a different story. Some of the better players' mothers might have a problem with it.</p>

Isn't Strong also a Co-DC? On paper he looks good. Not sure how he would recruit or be the head guy though. He did coach UF as interim after Zook so he is technically the SEC's second AA hc.
