Alabama under the new regime appear to be in slow decline, so it's not inconceivable that we could steal one.
But they are still light years ahead of us in talent.

Alabama doesnt appear to be the beast it eas before. I think thats due to NIL evening playing field a lot. As others have stated, they are still talented.
I dont know enough about either team yet to know how get a chance we have. Its at home sp.i assume it will be competitive.

It felt like 5/10 before Nick Rousch decided to go run his mouth about it everywhere, no need to give any extra motivation. I've said it before on here, Bama is going to be really good this year. Our hopes hinge on them starting a R-Fr in his first true SEC road game. Their defense is going to be really, good. Their O-line should be vastly improved, which improves the run game(they added a stud freshman RB as well), and their receivers are all really good. They have continuity this year with their OC and DC, Debor is a great coach, they will be a monster this year.
It ain't Saban's team, so we have a shot. I actually think we beat them, similar to how a bad Florida State team got them early.
I actually had a dream the other night that UK blew Alabama out. I had forgotten that we even played them this year.

wish we didn’t have murderers row of a schedule but we won’t look lost and that we don’t belong on the field against any of them. That will be the most noticable difference.

I think we will have a 6 win season but Alabama is not one of them. We haven't won an SEC home game in what 3 years and people think we will start with Alabama. They have deep talented rosters and it will be our QBs first real test. I might feel better about the game if we played it later in the season but I see little chance of us winning that game.
This. If we have ourselves together and no significant injuries, I am going 35% at home. This is not saban's crimson tide.
It's a way better chance than that. I'm not predicting a win but I predict we will be competitive. Bama ain't Bama presently. Kentucky will have nothing to lose and a lot of energy.
I like our chances to clip bama and have a losing record more than I do just have a winning record. I predict this will be the most fun losing season we've ever had.
I feel like we have a pretty talented roster. What held us back in the past, my opinion, was the stall ball approach Stoops used. We just didn't score enough to beat those good teams. I think now we will score points, but can we stop them from scoring. I hope the days of loosing 13-12 and 13-10 are over...

The only thing I’ll add to that is that they will only have 1 game to scout Stein and his crew. Yes, it’s definitely an uphill battle to win that game but I think it’s just plausible to win that game, but I won’t be shocked with a loss.
I think the chances are better before the Bama offense gets going and they aren’t able to scout Stein.
Kentucky is going to have an offensive line that can move the ball on anyone. If Minchey and the Carr/Miller combo are as good as I think they can be, it's all going to come down to our defense getting stops. I think its a close, high scoring game either way. But I have a sneaky feeling we beat them and start the Stein era off with a signature bang.
How can you make a prediction of thaat game when we’ve never seen our team play. Right now I say Alabama beat us 45-0. There’s gonna be a lot of holes in this team. It’s not gonna be a complete team. There are some strong players in certain positions, but then the rest of it who knows we don’t know.
I was the game back in 1997 in Lexington with the upset in OT. What a night!!!!
I was at Pineapple Willy’s in PCB. 4 of us UK fans and 1 Tenn fan. Big room full of Bama fans. It was glorious. I remember one guy after the game, elbows on knees, face in hands, looks up and says, “we can’t even beat Kentucky”.
To be fair, this was their event and the Bama fans couldn’t have been more gracious. Well, maybe a couple of exceptions. lol
I have no idea how this season or this game will turn out but I am more optimistic than ever with what changes have occurred for UK football within the last year. I liken this game to the Bama-FSU game last year...not much known about either but FSU came out and pretty much whipped Bama.
My hope is that we get through the first game with no injuries and a massive chip on our shoulder. It's the 3:30 prime time ABC game, the atmosphere will be electric, etc.
On the flip side, we had the same set up in 24 with the SC game but pissed the bed...the good thing now though is we have had a major upgrade/change in leadership all over the landscape so I DO NOT that type of performance. We will see...

I think Alabama will be starting a true freshman QB and it will be his 1st SEC road test, Kroger field will be rocking and the Cats will be ready to fight. A couple of early breaks and the upset may just be on! Stranger things happen and Saban is gone!
I’m sure Alabamas coaches are not looking forward to defending Will Steins offense. With our line and not knowing what we will do, and with the stadium rocking we have a good chance at the upset.

Maybe, maybe not, these Alabama teams the last couple of years can’t afford to think like that and if they do they will be in trouble.
I think 25% is fair. They are going to be significant favorites but it’s at home. Also, they are down compared to previous years. Even though the demise of Alabama football is overstated, the pressure of a game like this is massive for DeBoer. Get in a rockfight and things get tight on the Crimson sideline. Then, players tense up and magic happens.

Kentucky will be a fairly sizable dog in this game, IMO largely based on the fact that it's a new coaching staff with a relatively new roster that hasn't had much time to polish the schemes and work the kinks out. I honestly believe if the experience factor for both teams was the same this would be toss up game. Cats need to lean heavily on their big talented O-line which I think may give them an advantage up front.
Really think it depends on their qb play - their coach is more known for offense so if qb struggles so does the team
Any unnecessary motivation was stupid to give them, whether you want to believe they care or not. Coaches are always looking for motivation, Rousch provided it.
