Not sure on the math. It’s a pool. Includes bowl game revenue, playoff participation base fee plus Cincy’s participation payment, mens and womens bball post season appearances and a lot of stuff like ticket sales. I can try to get you a better explanation but my buddy the self styled guru and obnoxious Houston fan laid it out and it made sense to me.
Gotcha. I was just looking at the conference payout difference between having Cincy in the CFP and a NYD 6.

SO... is it

1. AL
2. GA
3. MI
4. CIN

??
I think it will end up that way unless Michigan somehow gets upset or just destroys Iowa.
Even with that the committee won’t want AL v GA in the semis so, I think you’re right on.

After watching Michigan, I think either Alabama or Michigan wins it all

I liked the games today. My undergraduate degree is from Pitt. I also have a Law Degree from TU. Pitt 45--Wake Forest 21.

I am proud of the Panthers. I think the following Pitt guys would be or are proud of tonight's win:: Pop Warner, Jock Sutherland, Marshall "Biggie" Goldberg, Joe Schmidt, Joe Walton, Mike Ditka, Marty Schotenheimer, Fred Cox, Johnny Majors, Tony Dorsett, Jackie Sherill, Dave Wannstedt, Hugh Green, Dan Marino, Russ Grimm, Mark May, Jimbo Covert, :Lesean McCoy, Larry Fitzgerald, Aaron Donald, Beano Cook, Myron Cope.

Kenny Pickett had a fantastic season. I like the way the Panthers program is going. Brennan Marion has some great receivers to work with and is one of the rising assistant coaches in college football.

The year we got the exit fee from UCONN will always be the highest year until we see other exit fees, if we see them. TU got like $7.9 million from the pool that year. More than what UCF got for going to the Peach Bowl.
So coupled with TV money during the regular season for football and basketball from the networks how much total does Tulsa receive on an annual basis?

Thanks in advance PNTrough or any other poster that would like to share their two cents.

GO TU!!!

It fluctuates by year, and this is not a statement that captures all of the gross revenue collected by TU, but is rather an aggregate of payouts from the AAC alone for media rights, NCAA grants, championship participation, bowl participation, and the like. The most recent numbers available that I have seen are for 2017-2018. The league made around $75 million. Tulsa received roughly the same as Houston and ECU, which was $4.6 million. Which should give you some visibility into why we shouldn’t be spending $2 million to fire a coach two years ago or hiring a coach to be paid $2 million or more a year. Especially since we don’t know what the future holds. The payout disparity between P5 and G5 as really skewed the market for coaching salaries, as you can plainly see here. They can pay out a dime for every dollar for a coach. We are being asked to pay 50 to 60 cents. Or in the case of Houston, roughly everything next year, if the rumors are true about Dana’s extension.

For those of you who complain about Wichita State, we pay them roughly $500,000 for a traditionally ranked team that buys a lot of tickets to play us all at basketball and up the numbers of conference schools in the tournament thus increasing our cut. I loathe them, but that’s a steal. They make that fee back for us when they go to the dance and the rest is gravy.

P on the P5.

So over the next two or three years the AAC gets some exit money from UCF, Cincy and Houston?

It sounds like that was very lucrative when UCONN left.

Are we responsible for helping pay for our new CUSA partners?

It was like $10 million immediately and $1 million a year for seven years iirc.
