Feel so bad for Caliendo. He is absolutely a top 10 guy across at the weights and he has to go up against the clear #1 ,2 years in a row.

Mesenbrink is just a completely different animal. How amazing would it be if Forrest was at the same weight. The amount of motion would be too hard to follow for most. You would need to put it in slow motion to see each transition in the constant chain wrestling that almost certainly would go damn near nonstop!

I didn't want Taylor to win, but those were bogus stall calls against him.
Robideau fired off a shot within the first 5 sec and Taylor battled that single attempt for over 60 seconds with amazing defense.

After the stalemate Robideau takes another then he's instantly dinged?

And then there in the 3rd what's he supposed to do? He defended that exactly how he would in the center.

The refs have collectively been really really bad this entire weekend.

I will give you the 3rd but the first two were 100% legit and called properly. He was backing out of bounds to avoid being taken down.

Minto ain’t exactly Jax or messenbrink. This applies to hawks and nittany lions - you wrestle passive for 6 minutes 30 seconds, you have to blame yourself. SVN lost fair and square cuz the Stanford kid went for it.

I would be absolutely shocked if there was a single PED test given this weekend. They’re going to test for recreational drugs, amphetamines, opiates, and maybe a few masking agents. Statistically speaking, only 8 wrestlers will be tested for PED’s across D1, D2, and D3 all season long. And if you assume they focus test by sport instead of equal distribution, then there may only be 1 PED test for a wrestler all season across all divisions. Maybe 1. Maybe.

That’s not pointing anything at anyone. I’m just pointing out that NCAA drug testing is highly, highly unlikely to catch anyone with PED’s.

These track races at the end of matches is tough to watch. I get it, don’t put yourself in that position of being behind, but there is almost no chance of last-second heroics ‘cause these guys are running like Usain Bolt for the last 15 20 secs. Not just a finals problem.
