I am glad they are not in the CFP with a national stage for the whole world to see what a fraud that offense is. it would turn out like the rose bowl when McCaffrey ran wild, or the time TCU made the playoffs and got smoked a few yrs ago. save us the embarrassment.

Yeah, I'd say that should be the expectation twice a decade for a school like Iowa.

I doubt it would have been that many times if the big ten was constructed as it is today. And Iowa has to get in under that new dynamic.

2002 and 2009 probably would’ve. 2015 was cupcake central.

So, as I sit here and watch Iowa State compete for the CFP while also being the best program in Iowa. I don't think it's too much to say that the CFP or fringe CFP level team should be the yearly expectation for Iowa. We aren't saying winning it all or make the semifinals, but this 6-6 level crap is not the results we should expect.
